there was both -- we saw them right before it happens. and then the preview cuts to after the event where they are left with their thoughts and feeling devastated. so I guess they spend maybe hour or two and then she leaves. no whole night business.

I guess he wanted to say that he thought she was different and will change her belief about women , kinda like he had feelings for her but turned out that she is also same hence his last hope got broken and he is pushed more into darkness kinda world of hate for women.

or maybe they didn't want to worry about body odour. they are already nervous and stressed in a bad way. this isn't a fun one night stand for them. more like board exams type.
