After bench scene,

Dev said Vidhi that he will drop her.

And Vidhi responded that she will go by herself as she have to go somewhere.

Kya Matlab tha?

(Itna to samaj payi ke Vidhi lied, but is there any further meaning to it?)

Personally I think it's the inconsistency in writing. Maybe they tried to experiment with his character - chalo aise karke dekhte hain and then they themselves didn't like it / felt it won't go with the upcoming tracks so backed out of it.

Another slim possibility is that being in love for the first time, Dev got carried away and let him heart overtake the head. But that doesn't gel with the man he is shown to be. So I will go with inconsistent writing.

i vote for this... even as a man of his caliber he could feel what he wants to in that tiniest fleeting moment ignited by the jealousy for Arjun and how Arjun might be a competitor for him... but the moment Vidhi started her rant abt Shaadi and Amba he came crushing down to earth realizing "oh i had a good fly in my dreamland not time to get back to reality "

and then ill say writing was bad too... they could have shown even this wavering Dev in much much beautiful n heartfluttering sensible way just Like Dev but they couldn't... so i am keeping my eyes closed to bad writing ..

Yup. Had they shown his thoughts behind his actions, it would have worked out very well. A guy, who, for the first time gives in to what his heart wants instead of what he "has to do" or "supposed to do" and later reality hits him like a sucker punch.

Mujhe bhi voh samajh nahi aaya why did she say she had to go somewhere else and phir ghar pahunch gayi did she lie or did she actually go somewhere and the scene got cut

Jabhi Dev offer karta hai kahin chalne ko madam is refusing God knows why he had offered to come to balghar too but boli ki pyar kafi hai🤪

Agar uske saath chali jati toh usko Dev ke sath time spend karne milta aur humko Videv scene. Aur yeh bhanda phootne wala sequence Dev ke samne hojata and Dev aur HP sath mein admit hojate hospital mein 🤣
