Shalin is one interesting character, have to give it to him. He knows Tina is fake asf, pretends to be dumb but deep inside is well aware about every contestant whereabouts. He doesn't like Tina- and it gets extremely obvious when you see him subtly smiling when Tina gets roasted by Archana or when Tina was discussing that Sajid thinks that she likes him- dude literally broke his character & smirked (he knows that she is doing this for camera). He says he wants Tina to be the captain but doesn't give any major input for the task. Another day (dhobi ghat task), he said that he knows that Ankit/Priyanka would save Tina (which is obvious that they won't). He knew all this while that taking Sumbul out would leave him, Ankit & Priyanka and it's fairly obvious that Priyankit would take him out. He acts all lovely-dovey & takes all Tina's shit/tantrums when he KNOWS that she is using him. He knew it was Sumbul who called him dumb, but didn't took her name. He asked Tina three times, literal three times about the fact that she likes him or not, when he KNOWS that Tina doesn't and would make up an excuse that she can't confess it in front of camera. He's manipulative, toxic & narcissistic which is widely known. This sounds like a reach, but I think he wants to portray this image of being the love struck bechara who is getting used by his toxic girlfriend. Looking at his history of domestic violence, abuse, attempt to murder & dowry accusations- everything somewhat makes sense. Tina isn't his type & he isn't her type either. They're faking it, but Shalin is somewhat exposing Tina in a way & getting the bechara phass gaya support. Now what does it do to his image?
-People start giving him benefit of the doubt. Yeh toh bechara phass gaya hai, he's a good player Tina is ruining his game. Even Priyanka,Archana,Shiv have somewhat warmed up to him.
-He's still not over Daljit. He brings her topic time & again. By sticking to Tina, people again give him benefit of the doubt. Maybe Daljit was making it all up. Galti hamesha ladke ki nahi hoti.
-He changes expressions, mannerisms at the drop of the hat. Now, we have had many weird contestants in the past- anger issues, rage, masterminds we have had it all. But he is something else. There's this sinister lying inside him, which sometimes gets out for instance he said that he can get away with anything and can roam scot free because he has panel of lawyers defending him.
-He doesn't forget easily, he remembers Tina siding with Stan. He knows Stan, Sumbul, Priyankit, Abdu aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Tina is channels face and gets some screentime. His fandom wasn't there initially and still isn't that big. So he latches to Tina to gain some screentime. They both know each other from outside, that Dolly conversation is an evidence to that. He can't leave Tina because he knows that no one is gonna prioritise him and that increases his survival in the game. Shiv, Priyanka, Archana have warmed up to him. Initially these people hated both of them equally. Now, Shalin is the 'better guy'.
- I think he has a thing for Sumbul (or maybe I'm wrong). She is his type- submissive, somewhat like Daljit. The only time I saw him being real was with Sumbul, he was with Tina for the game & was genuinely hurt at times by Sumbul. He gets passive aggressive with her, wants to talk to her, went to smoking room after she refused to talk to him, tries to make her jealous by over doing love lapata with Tina.
The more Tina sticks around him, the more her game goes down south. Whereas his game is benefitting from this scenario- no one nominated him except Sumbul. Even Archana nominated Tina over Shalin! If Shalin truly loved Tina, he would have stood up when Shiv fought w Tina on her birthday. He defends Tina sometimes, but does it solely for the game. Sometimes he subtly exposes her by saying that you're doing it for the cameras. He is bad at physical tasks, but has brains. The goal is to survive in the house for the longest by hook or by crook, make money, clear his image; since him being the winner is not the possibility & he KNOWS that. Dude is one smart cookie, indeed. Maybe I'm overanalysing it all, but narcissists work like that.
Tina & Shalin have the same PR agency. The love angle was under the contract which they've signed. Now everything makes a lot more sense. They both feel claustrophobic (they are not each other's type, and Tina has a boyfriend (Zuzu) outside who she wants to marry) but have to stick w each other because they are bound by contract. The only way to break the contract is eviction. So either Tina goes or Shalin. They are under a contract and breaching it will cause many legal repercussions. Tina seems extremely bothered about it (probably because she came to BB for primarily for money and doesn't have strong financial support), while Shalin isn't, probably because he comes from good financial backing and has a legal team. Tbh both of them should get rid of the PR. It did them no good.
