Until advait starts plotting to defame a person's character or killing anybody then he is not considered negative by itv standards. The plotting and planning to defame nehmat in mallika-ekam eyes and all the intricate plotting to ruin mallika and nehmat already puts naaz in negative category more than advait. Advaits character for now is grey only as per itv standards.

The point is shamsher's plan is to keep the enemy close for it to be easier to keep a closer watch on then and if needed in future he can blackmail ekam in regards to mallika safety or now nehmats. It's easier for shamsher to make sure his enemies dont get closer to truth if they are closer to him. By forging a relationship with ekam family that was his intention.

How can a character be portrayed as grey if they are being shown murdering and raping? That's not what grey characters are, not even on itv.

A grey character is simply someone who may not be free of sins/flaws, but still has a certain extent of a moral code.

All out negative characters have disregards for morals or are morally flexible based on their own wants and desires.

His intentions now is solely to save his family izzat because his son has been jilted on his wedding day whilst media are there (itv always makes big deal of this and showing fams rushing last minute to find an alternative stupidly lol). So he asked advait to get any bride to save their family izzat in front of media. Also he wants to keep an eye on nehmat and ekam activities and keeping nehmat close by getting her married to his son would achieve that. Plus hate angle is just temporary, if ekam ever got to know truth shamsher killed nehmat parents you think his hate wouldn't turn in to concern for her safety?

No, she didn't. She's freaked out and trying to help but Ekam's mom just blames Nehmat. Goodness, the hatred when N/A get married is going to be insane!! I feel sorry for Nehmat.

Advait was more interested in knowing if nehmat is somehow involved in leaking those pictures or he was just confused if nehmat also knows about the pictures

No, I didn't get from the episode. What I got was he was thinking does she know about the pics?!! His Dad and him are more or less sure that it's the media or a third person.
