The names of the characters are pretty interesting.

Naaz generally means Pride. That's what she is full of, now that things are going as per her wishes. She thinks she has won it all. She is getting everything while Nehmat is losing everything. But Pride too falls and so will Naaz.

Ekam means one/solitary. That's what he is like. He can see only one point of view. Duality is not in his character. Either with him or against him is his equation, and so he reacts in extremes - overwhelming love Or overwhelming hatred. His name can also indicate that he is a one woman man, forever pining for his one love.

Advait means unique/peerless. Similarly he is someone who is at the top of the game, getting distracted by nothing. He doesn't love about any of the women he is playing with; neither Mallika who is supposedly just his pawn and nor Nehmat, whose life is destroying piece by piece. There is none equal to him in his game and his capacity to remain indifferent to distractions and just focus on his goal makes him unique and powerful. His name also indicates non-duality. So like Ekam he might also be a one woman man.

Nehmat means gift/blessing. Her life became a blessing when Jasmine chose to swap kids for she got a loving family. For Fatejo and Virks she was a blessing too. And with her core values and spirit intact, Nehmat herself is a gift and a blessing for those whom she loves for she can fight the world for them.

Mallika interestingly means the Scent of Jasmine. It indicates that just like Tejo and Jasmine were close at one time, Mallika and Nehmat shared the same. But Fateh came in between and things changed. Similarly Advait came in between and now things will change. Mallika will become the essence of Jasmine that will be a constant thorn in Nehvait's marital life.

I feel that Naaz's lehenga colours are quite similar to Jasmine's from her first marriage😲. The colours of JasFa's first wedding were pink, gold, and green. The colours used in NikNaaz marriage the same just the shades are a bit darker, outfit and jewellery design are different.

I do understand the meaning of want and need.

As a young girl, Jasmine wanted to destroy Fatejo just to satisfy her ego. But later with Naaz, her requirements changed.

Jasmine came back to India with much expectation. She thought that her father would forgive her and allow her to live with them. However, Rupy did not accept her and wanted Jasmine to move to another city. So finally Jasmine realised that she cannot fulfill Naaz's wishes. Hence, Jasmine left Moga and requested Tejo to accept her daughter as her own. Yet things didn't work out according to her plan. Naaz (learnt that Nehmat is her half sibling) started getting jealous seeing Fatejo with Nehmat. Jasmine understood that Naaz would never be happy with Fatejo. Also, she knew that until Fatejo is alive Naaz will never get the love she desires from Sandhu's (even today Rupy loves Nehmat more than Naaz). Therefore, Jasmine used Shamsher to kill Fatejo and Virks (Nehmat would have also died during the accident but Naaz saved her).

The need to kill Fatejo arised due to Naaz.
