JLaw will always be relevant cause she is a brand. Like the cool girl cliche she has built as her image. It's hilarious how many actresses tried to replicate her self depreciating schtick and failed miserably. 😆Plus highest paid actress at one point and one of the youngest leading actress to win an Oscar, all of this adds immensely. She has big franchise hits, X-Men to Hunger Games. She did take a big break though so who knows, young gen like Zendaya are ready to take over.

Brahmastra was also a pre-pandemic film that had to be delayed.

Moreover it did quite well with all the scheduling drama around it.

Agreed plus Ayaan had sequel planned so he needed part 1 to look like a hit

So far. But do you think Karan would make a Dharma movie franchise without a sizeable role for Alia? She's his first successful in-studio product after all. He wants her indebted to him forever.

I somehow can understand the effort to do as much positive propaganda as possible as already too much negativity had been accumulated before the release.

In addition, other arguments here are also important as Dharma (KJo) already long ago had announced that there would be sequels. Accordingly at least an important part of the coasts for Brahmastra 1 would go into the filming of part 2 (as HMR mentioned: some of the sets). Also, I remember, that there had been a fire which destroyed sets for a film (had they been for Brahmastra...or for Takht?).

My only 'worry' is that there won't be a 2nd part...at least not soon.

I said last few years. In 90's he and Akshay Kumar did not do too well, that is common knowledge for any movie goer but in last few years he has been quite successful and has not had a 'string' of flops, he has interspersed his flops with BO success or it can also be seen other way round.

Hopefully, there won't be another fire in the storage...
