Devavrat, who says "mājhī Vidya," told Latika that "Vidya is the woman with whom I live."

Latika assumed that Vidya was Devavrat's wife and he was trivializing their relationship because he has no manners.

Devavrat said to Vidya that he doesn't need a sahacāriṇī, which could mean that Vidya wants to find him a wife, or that she thinks of herself as his life partner and he isn't committed to her.

Could Vidya be Devavrat's mother's life partner?

After Devavrat's mother became a widow and single mother, she might have fallen in love with Vidya, and decided to raise her child with her. Devavrat might think of Vidya as his friend more than a second mother.

That would explain why he lives with her but doesn't want her to be too motherly.

I haven't been watching the show, it's only a few minutes once in a while so idk.

Who describes his mother as "the woman with whom I live?" Not believable at all.
