Ranveer and Shankar team up for Velpari

So seems like remaking Anniyan has been scrapped, now ranveer and shankar will team up to bring the Tamil novel Velpari onto the big screen

I did a Google search for Velpari.. most of the results were comparing PS1 to Velpari.

If it is based on a famous book, I am excited. RS plays the king..fighting against the Cholas and Pandyas.

Shankar is a combination of Rohit Shetty and SLB. Grandeous sets, wonderful music, especially the song picturisation, melodrama .But plot will be nonsense. You can't expect Mani Ratnam's sensibility from Shankar. And Ranveer does have a tendency to go overboard until reined in. So potential blockbuster but not a classic like PS1 which will stand the test of time.And no depth either, despite the source material. But the director and actor are a combo made for each other.

shankar trying to give competition to rajamouli while rajamouli movies are outright craps.

I had no clue they were planning to remake Anniyan. Anyway, if the news of this new film is true, it is going to be massive. Shankar is pretty huge and his combination with Ranveer has the possibility of turning truly epic.
