I am back with today's post.
Well the more episodes I am digesting the more this lady is kind of irking me.
The way she is trying to make Raj and Manmeet husband wife in the sake of settling her daughter raised a few questions.
1. Will the companionship of Raj and Manmeet worth it?
2. Is she really a Good Mother?
These questions might not have popped up in my mind if she had been a little conscious of her daughter's image in society. The notion of getting married and earn respect for the female gender is so crooked that none thinks above it. If she fans the theory that they were husband wife, it would make her words less valuable in business and society. A female is respected for her work and she is considered with value but not any Bahu material. Manmeet could be an ideal partner to work with for any men but only a very few would think about marrying her with the strong personality she brings on the table.
The respect she built over 8 years was none of concern for her mother but only her getting married is of concern. Is she really a well wisher of the Girl Child of hers? (Girl child coz if it would have been a boy, the mother would brag about it)
A good mother: A mother not just affectionate but also who protects her child.
A mother who doesn't think about the consequences of ruining her daughter's hardwork and tarnish her image just to get her married can never be a good mother in my opinion.
Every child deserves parents but not all parents deserves children. Seeing the scenario of most Indian houses, how gas lighting, manipulation, discouraging, suffocating, emotional blackmailing is a daily part it's important to talk about the mental health of the children.
If I would have been in Manmeet's shoes I would have feel betrayed and said she is only Parmeet Shergill for Society but not the mother of Manmeet Shergill.
She should appreciate her daughter a little because she managed to climb ladders which not everyone could climb irrespective of the gender.
The appreciation is kind of missing from Manmeet's parents and especially how Parmeet doesn't care how her daughter will lose freedom, decision making honor and respect if she marries Raj as well as how she would be termed as a liar... It's really nerve wrecking.
You don't need to beat the sh*t out of your child to be a bad mother. Sometimes being ignorant and turn a blind eye to consequences of what the child might go through only for the sake of society can also make you a bad mother.
Well as I decided to post every day and being an avid watcher of the show, it's time for me to dig the story and characters a little more.
I have only one poem for Shergill Mumma,
