@Bold: Any indian who has survived the 2000s aussie will absolutely relish and enjopy Aussies being defeated, and its even better if its in their own home. Thats why the CB series triumph of 2008 is the greatest non icc victory . 🤣

mushi retired from t20i his t20i stats r not good, but he was brilliant in 2018-2019 in t20is. mahmudullah is out of form hence not part of squad. he was actually removed for playing too much dots. but i felt he should have been in this wc he already has 2 centuries in aus ground. (played 5 or 6) and also would have provided the experience.

yes u r right. taskin also have a 5 wicket haul vs india in his debut match. taskin, litton n fizz r good players in bd in current squad. taskin n litton lost their way but got their way back. bd new players need to do better. they have potential but still lacks against higher ranked teams

because ipl is a great platform to learn, sometimes ipl gets criticized for conflict in schedule and money orientated but i believe ipl is a great tournament where players can learn from big names.

I would say aim for other leagues first like CPL and SA20 because they also have teams from ipl owners. Direct ipl would be tough since we can play only 4 overseas and its filled to the brim so much that Glenn philips and Gurbaz and Hales and Pretorius etc dont get spot. RVD, russow still sit on bench. If you perform there will be better for them. Like Jayden seales and Chris Green got into KKR from TKR.

the only league that shows interest in bd players is abu dhabi t10league, psl and even lankan league. cpl only showed interest in shakib. sa20 and bpl taking place in same month so not possible this year. but bpl did help bd in t20is in 2017-2019 when quality players used to play there even big names like ab de villers, warner played there. but the quality of the bpll dropped and so did the team’s standard but the team is again slowly picking up.

bd ‘s performance this wc is way better than their performance last wc. last wc was a nightmare for the team my gosh!lost all games in super12 even lost agaisnt scotland in qualifiers. this year at least won some.

And its Not BIG3, its BIG1. BCCI does everything, ECB/CA just enjoy the hardwork of BCCI. case in point check the crowds of indian matches and non indian matches .

"Hardwork" a is stretch when they get most money out of broadcasting deals given they have a 1.4 billion captive market. Surely, BCCI cannot be credited for India's population and rise of cricket popularity after the '83 WC in a globalised world of middle class aspiration and spread of televised sport in the late 80s and 90s.

And for India to have broadcasting profits, they need to play with at least one other team. They cannot play alone na. Big 3 because Australia and England are the only other two teams who have considerable money and cricket culture to provide audiences of their own alongside India matches for broadcasting deals. Also, Big 3 is a term senior sports journalists and scholars themselves use.

Here:

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/01/sports/cricket/big-three-cricket-nations-look-to-consolidate-their-influence.html

Basically, if broadcasters earn most money from India matches, the incentive is to make India play as many matches as possible, that too with equally popular and strong teams. So, the incentive to push money in smaller teams that might not generate as much viewership as India/Aus/Eng becomes zero to none. See how many matches India plays in a,year to how many international matches especially tests WI plays.

This is not a new thing, this process was started during Dalmia's presidency and was only augamented by the IPL.

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/cricket-s-big-three-could-be-only-three-fears-smith-20210215-p572hp.html

Heck, the Big 3 even control the ICC anti-corruption unit so smaller boards realistically do not stand a chance to appeal to a neutral body which ICC should be.

https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/big-3-to-control-anti-corruption-unit-as-icc-confirms-review/

Patriot Act did a very in depth analysis of the Big 3

Harsha talks about cricket economy here :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY53YU-Uq8I

You can see how broadcasters have massively influenced and bulldozed ICC even before IPL became big :

Hope this helps!

yep I still remember it.. Sachin was like.. aap log mere ko personal time bhi nehin de sakte hain, I have to come & rescue the time like the 90's era once again (its still 1999 😆), when he came on for next match against Kenya, he was unbeaten on 140 if I recall correctly, had tears in his eyes after reaching 100 - the first time he started raising bat & face facing towards sky - he said, he was remembering his dad or thanking him..

Robin Singh was that guy... who would usually get our team close to the victory margin & choke out most often, we often ended up losing by single digit scores or ending up in tie - with final wicket runout 😆

But that Zim team was a good one - especially batting wise - Flower brothers, Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell (always a nemesis for India)
