Didn't they anticipate this before? They could have shown us a realistic story of 4-5 months, instead of this crass Sonali.

@Simple: Since you know the revenue of Appnapan, how come Balh2 is surviving because even a 0.5 trp show cannot earn more than 40L per week. Plus, that show looks more expensive.

@bold- Appnapan generated 5k in it's debut week followed by 2-3 lacs till mid July which was later increased to 8 lacs after they got dual time slot. (6.30- 2lacs + 8.30- 6 lacs). Initially, Appnapan was sponsored by Dollar but due to low ratings it backed out during Mahasangham episode. Later Wow skin care started sponsoring it which isn't a known brand, hence it also withdrew, presently it is sponsored by Wolks Taigun.

I started following this revenue thing after Appnapan was launched. At that tym Balh2 had 12-18 lacs per week income which has recently dropped down to 8 lacs(same as Appnapan)

Recently after completing 1 year, Balh2 sets has been shifted to a smaller set for cost cutting.

Balh2 has a extra income from YT , it's videos garner 60-70k views in a span of 1 hour whereas our show has maximum reach of 120-130k even after a month.

On sonyliv app also Balh2 is in demand and remains in top 12 in onlyn Trp.

With each Balh2 off air news, actors pay is cut. Recently Disha charges 75-80k per episode whereas Nakul charges 90k. Generally BT leads charge more than 1.25 lacs per episode, but wid each off air news, cost cutting is done in actors pay. That's how they r surviving..

KBC is also going offair in Dec 1st week, owing to heavy losses, its total income is 18-24 lacs and it has got captured 3 prime time slots. But makers have thought of replacing it wid KBC junior, but Kbc has got some vry very good sponsors.

Oh that's great to know. Now I kind of understand the revenue dynamics and why 5 shows were off-aired by Sony without closure and left incomplete during covid lockdown. They also had trps in the 0.2 - 0.4 range.

KBC used to garner 3.7 Trp for Sony which has dropped down to 1-1.4 in current season.

Same goes wid KNWK, it had 2.8 trp in past seasons but this year it's 1-1.3.

Even Indian idol has failed this tym

TVR of Sony dropped from 97 points to 83.

With Appnapan launch, TVR increased from 78 to 83 and then 87.

Every show has an expiry date. If makers don't reinvent their shows - reality / non-reality, they can't mint money year after year. Plus, with time tastes change and monotony sets in.

I am waiting for the day when audience across all channels will stop endorsing itv's "garbage" fictions and phs start produce short realistic shows like our neighbours or other countries. I think a decade or two more!

Returned to ITV after 1.2 decades and didn't find any change 🤣🤣

I have been picky about what I watch on itv. My last best show was Sony's "Story 9 months ki", which was really good till episode 88.

Watch if possible bcos beyond that Sony forced the makers to do a needless leap due to low ratings. And then covid 2nd wave caused lockdown in Mumbai and with a 0.2-0.3 trp the makers couldn't afford a shootbase shift. Their head writer also died due to covid.

And the beautiful show was taken off -air without completing it's story. 😫😫😢😢😭😭. The producer promised to narrate the remaining story on clubhouse, but she didn't keep up her promise.

Finally, I wrote a closure that I envisioned on Wattpad to relieve myself of the pain. Since then, I don't attach myself to low trp shows.

With Appnapan, I knew very well that it cannot survive beyond 6 months as Sony doesn't allow shows with 0.1 - 0.3 to run beyond that timeframe.

Agar ultimatum nahi milti toh Nick jiju apne naye saali se jhootha bhi chupwate 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣
