PS happens to be a hardcore Tamil novel based on the real History about the Cholas and the Pandyas which every single Indian read about in their History lessons during the school. I did my schooling in ICSE and we had it covered extensively in our history lessons. But otherwise except the Tamilians the rest of the South Indians are just as oblivious of PS as the rest of the India. Not sure where your friend comes from but for Hindus in South India Bhagawadhgeetha ,Ramayana and Mahabharata are the most revered books. Hope that helps!

I thought Saif didn't really bring his A game here. Maddy was superb in the original and I kinda preferred him to Sethupathy. Here except for 1-2 scenes, Saif was just coasting through.

Hrithik was surprisingly good and the only reason this one is watchable IF you have seen the original already as none of the twists and turns are gonna take you by surprise. Even the Kanpur/Lucknow setting seems generic compared to Chennai that seemed a lot more "alive" in the Tamil version.

All said and done, I think minty's review was spot on 👍🏼.

If you knew then you would’ve specified PS was popular in Tamil and not blob up the entire south India as PS (novel) fans which is a misinformation. So basically I was correcting the misinformation you were spreading around. And in the process if you got a geography and history lesson, which you seemed to have missed during the school, why not?

Wrong release date and lack of promotions....otherwise with the kind of rave reviews the movie got...this could have been something else...🤔
