I was afraid to post an honest review here. Seeing how many people from the nepotism army are here to defend them tooth and nail. Not to mention Alia and Ranbir do have some genuine fans. Honestly, it seems like a modern contemporary love story with some special effects thrown in. Nothing about mythology is all that prevalent in the film. Bahubali: the conclusion took a lot of inspiration from mythological literature like the Mahabharata. It is evident in the experience you get watching the film.

The only thing out of the ordinary about the film is the character of Junoon. It is not a character you find in any contemporary Bollywood film. It is very well developed. It has unique characteristics. I must say Mouni Roy's expression and dialogue delivery was spot on. She really suited the character. This part is irrelevant but despite the amount of work she has gotten done, she looked stunning throughout the film.

I watched Brahmastra on Tuesday and I have a few thoughts.

1) At first I thought what the hell is going on. Lol. There were a load of random scenes put together in the initial good few minutes.

1) SRK's presence really elevated the impact of his character but seeing him prancing about was hilarious. Then he names those guys Zor and Raftaar and I'm left totally confused. I mean we're those their names or did he name them?

2)Shiva randomly breaks into a dance, then while praying it's like he seeks Isha out from the crowd.

3)Alia's sinister smile gave me the vibe that she was around Shiva with an ulterior motive. I wasn't able to understand her motivation.

4) Shiva feeling insecure about being poor. What was that?

The writing was weak honestly. But I have hopes for Part 2. Don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed the film but the writing needs to be worked upon.

Yeah it runs straight into the chaos of running from the villians before that there is the Ranbir-Aloo chemistry to bore you to death !

Even I have more hopes for part 2. Hopefully, Dev's story will be more interesting and take more inspiration from mythology.

I agree with your review mostly

The love story was too rushed and not contemporary (these days love at first sight is rare). The best part was Mouni and the vfx. The weakest part was the one dimensional Isha.

Yeah but still very typical Bollywood! Nothing out of the ordinary! 😆
