RIP poor girl.

For clarification purposes I’m not a feminist and I don’t agree with 80% of what's happening in the world today. Everything is a mess.

For the little girls, it’s not a choice. I firmly believe that. 5 years can’t decide for themselves. You mean to tell me they do, I disagree!!

They are protesting to wear it in educational institutions.

Ghunghat is not a choice and Hijab falls in the same category for me. What starts as a choice, takes no time in becoming social evil. Like it did in Iran.

You are right five years olds can't decide for themselves but their parents have the right to bring up their kids however they want unless they are abusing the child. So, it doesn’t take away from the fight for their rights to wear hijab. We all should’ve the right to raise our kids as we want unless again we are harming them. Wearing the hijab is essential for the calture and religion of these people and they should have the freedom to that.

@Bold: I totally agree with you on that as evident from the affairs of the world today. The things I’m seeing all around me right now is making me question if there’s something called too much freedom.

So a father says to daughter, you will not go to school if you don’t wear ghunghat or hijab. That girl will lose education. I am worried about that more than the choice wali janta. You become independent and you want to tell me it’s your choice, I believe you. You are dependent and in school, it’s compulsion more than choice. So educational institutions should not allow these dress codes. Religion is personal. Practice at your home. No need to bring it in school!!

World is worst: There is something wrong and we can’t even discuss becoz bigot and phobic n all that jazz. Well, I want to discuss something that’s a social evil, let me. If it’s making you uncomfortable, then may be it’s your problem.

by you, I don’t mean you particularly. I am referring to everyone who jumps in with their defensive arguments without looking at the numbers and facts that it is affecting people’s lives in negative way.

I got that but we can't fault the parents here when it's the government that's putting these parents in a tough situation where they would have to choose education and what their child wears. If the government doesn’t come with such rules the kids will be going to school with their hair covered.

@bold: It's so bad that sometimes I consider living in the wild or something and I'm not exaggerating 😆

I don’t know where the world is headed but I know it's not a good place at all. People have lost their minds completely and it's not funny anymore and as you said no one can say or do anything without being labeled and canceled. EVERYTHING is a mess and things are going to get worse from here on but hopefully its one was of those situations where it gets better the storm.

So let me get this straight. Punjabis that are well settled in Canada and probably never plan to return to Punjab want a say on what happens in a state they don’t live in and doesn’t impact their daily lives?😆

Although I’m convinced Brampton now has more Punjabis than Punjab itself so I can see why these poor souls must be confused. Also the entry requirement to Canada is much much easier than getting in to US or UK so all kinds of faltu people now apply.
