I went to watch it today too (of course again with my cousin who is an IT student . She went to watch all the VFX and I went to watch the movie for the sake of it).
The theatre wasn't running houseful unlike previous time I had gone but yeah the occupancy was pretty decent, around 75% .
Reiterating once again that I don't understand the business of box office, nor do I know how credible is either source -- both that is declaring it a disaster and the other one declaring it a Hit.
But I still feel the movie has been an invincible feat in itself, verdict not withstanding. For the starters, it has paved way for extraordinary VFX and secondly, we have our own movie "verse". Moreover, this has paved the way for sequels that would be the continuation or even the prequel to the previous series.
For the long time, the movie has been subject to unprecedented ridicule. Ranbir and Ayan have been butt of some disgusting jokes, some even bordering to homophobia. However, hats off to Ayan's vision and for Ranbir's faith in him.
I might not understand the mathematics of this movie but what can I say safely is that had the movie's release not been postponed for so long, it would have definitely been a blockbuster..
P.S : Now looking forward to part II, Dev's story. They better work on story and dialogues this time around. And please let there be the actors who can act the act, look the part and deliver. Music be better too..
PPS : Mohan Bhargav and Anish Shetty need to have movies with individual story as well..
