The Fireflies. (A new drabble)

Name: The Fireflies

That was the last time they were meeting under the pitch black sky, no moon above. Hand in hand they walked towards an unknown locale, stealing glances. 

They wished to meet again, same place hand in hand, heart in heart, among the fireflies. 

Only to never meet again. 

Far far miles away from each other now, broken hearts, broken souls but a happy mask on their faces. Not living a life but just existing in the world. 

At night when the fireflies emerge, their hearts swell with love and their souls with happiness. Distance and time meant nothing, but it was love that kept them alive and the fireflies that united them each night. ❤️
