The whole ancient Hindu history angle is also very forced I thought …
This is token Hinduism thrown in to appease the current market …like yes throw in words like vanar, nag, nandi etc but there is no significance or relevance to them or those symbols and neither do they explore their use…
for eg: nandi bull is a vehicle of lord shiva and his protector ….if they really wanted to invest in the Hindu mythology side they would have explored stories between nandi and shiva and tried to incorporate that dynamic between shiva and the astra….
Lord shiva goddess parvati dynamic …what makes their bond so beautiful is not attraction …it’s that they work with each other’s flaws and Balance each other out ….there are several stories in Hindu mythology of lord shiva calming down parvathy when she’s in her “kaali” avatar (enraged) and her calming him down when he’s enraged and about to open his third eye to cause destruction …
Shiva and esha here are nothing like shiva and parvathi or any of their characteristics ….
As an example let’s take what rajamouli did with baahubali…the second part of it is pretty much a re telling of Ramayana in many ways with some characters getting inspired by the Mahabharata even …baahubali is like Rama- virtuous kind and intelligent ….sivagami is like kaikei who gets influenced by bad ppl and banishes baahubali for her own son ….devasena has characteristics of draupadi(revenge) and sita (she follows baahubali even when he’s banished from the kingdom)….Bhallaldev has shades of duryodhan and raavan (disrespecting women) and bijjaldev has shades of shakuni (manipulation) …kattappa in many ways is similar to Hanuman as a loyal dutiful helper….
Baahubali and sivagamis equation is similar to krishna and yashodha (adopted son)…
Baahubali and devasena are similar to shiv and parvathi and share their characteristics …they are both fierce, stand their ground against all odds… baahubali is a bit of a simpleton too like bholenath
Someone who has actually read and understood hindu mythology will incorporate so many themes and character arcs from mythology so seamlessly into the story ….
Here ayan has them go to varanasi to sing “love storiyan” ….and throws random words in to sound “pracheen” , randomly had 5 kids call themselves pandavas….isha calls herself parvathy….and ranbir fashions a random trident out of fire at the end🤦♀️
It just shows a clear lack of understanding of the same mythology they claimed to be so obsessed with …shame
