I wanted to do this for a long time. So here it is, an alternative review. I must confess, I just took the updates and fiddled around with them. So the credit for this update belongs to Maha.

May 5 Update
A boring episode. (Heh! So what else is new?)
Thols house
Thols (otherwise known as the Man With the Dead Caterpillar on His Upper Lip) goes into his home. Antony (who has been spending years to exact revenge….which fills us with suspense….not) follows him and stops there (because he forgot his lines). As Thols goes in , he finds there is a festive milieu as the landlord is celebrating some function (someone told him that Kolangal had ended) for his youngest daughter. (aww, shucks, it was in your dreams, Karthikka) The landlord tells his daughter to get Thols' blessing (the poor girl looks as if her father had just issued a death sentence). He does but he refuses to participate in the function as he says he has some work to do (thinking of new ways to torture the poor viewers).unfortunately not into the horizon) He goes off (. Antony comes there (unfortunately from the horizon).
The landlord welcomes him and somehow convinces himself that the visitor is Thols's maternal uncle (yeah, yeah, we all see the resemblance….dead caterpillars galore….or is it the common wooden expressions?). Antony also accepts that (as if he had the choice in the matter, he has to follow what the director tells him). Then the landlord tells Antony to take some rest in Thols's apartment. Antony wanted to do just that as he could get a chance to ransack things in Thols's home (he was hired by the IF gang to find the scripts and destroy them). That he does and finds chellamma's picture (surprise, surprise, there are no scripts!!). He compares that with the Vizhangu Meenu's picture he has. (Oh my God, what a difference Lakme foundation makes….oops, sorry, change that to Body Shop foundation, since Fish is a Brit brat!!)
Then the landlord knocks at the door and gives Antony some sweets. But Antony goes off regrettably, it is not into the horizon. (He found out that the sweets were NOT because Kolangal had come to an end). Thols comes there. (Who could ever think that Thiruchelvam is unimaginative? Thols comes in, Anthony goes out, Anthony comes in, Thols go out…and the viewers get spun about!!) Amidst the dragging scenes the landlord says that Thols' uncle also came there. Thols says he has no uncle (lucky uncle!) and tells the landlord that he was deceived. (Just like you told us that Kolangal would come to an end soon and we were deceived). The landlord says he could never be deceived as he is from Coimbatore. (Aha…..but the Coimbatore fans too were deceived because they thought Kolangal would end soon!!) Thols repeatedly says he has no maternal uncle. The landlord does not accept that. He says don't throw away relations out of quarrel. You can always patch up with him even if you don't want to marry his daughter. Thols says he wants to be at peace. (Oh so do we, Thols, so do we!!)probably thinking, ennada en thalaivithi? Pannathukaga naan enna na lam panna vendi kidakku) Again the scene of getting the blessing. The daughter touches Thols feet. ( The episode freezes on a newspaper which shows Menaka's picture and the project she is doing. (Tada!!! So riveting, this Kolangal).
