There is something I want to know your opinions about ❤️
The scene where ayesha was looking at a couple enjoying their time in the car and was sad
Is it because that she wished the same happen between her and basit despite there is no love between them yet and it was till this moment as contract marriage ( I mean it was before their argument where he raised his hand on her saying he will fulfill this relationship)
Or she was generally unhappy that she didn't have a normal relationship with a husband like other girls regardless of basit like she could neither celebrate her success nor her married life
Which feeling do you have more about this scene?
I love this!!! I feel in that moment, we see Ayesha settling into the cold relationship she shares with Basit. Since their marriage, the first couple of days, we see Ayesha being slowly disillusioned regarding what her marriage will be like. Obviously, she was not expecting some whirlwind romance, but based on the admiration she had developed for Basit as her boss, she had possibly expected a normal relationship of mutual cooperation, consideration, and respect.
The first night, the night of the nikkah, was her first disillusioning moment, when she suddenly felt that Basit had no interest in her. But it was still too early for her to form any definite opinion on this. When he went to office the next morning, she goes as well because she feels okay, so if he is going to pretend the marriage changes nothing in his life, I will do the same. There when he forces her to leave, she feels her loss of power for the first time.
On the night of the reception, the fact that Basit looks down on her family comes across to her, further making her lose faith in this relationship. The balm scene is a moment when you feel that perhaps the two will be able to talk things through and find some kind of middle ground but Basit loses his temper because of the envelope and that opportunity goes out the window.
Then the object of money enters the relationship, complicating things further. He scolds her for going through his childhood notes, making her feel more like an intruder into his life. At this point, Ayesha has become completely disillusioned with the marriage.
She had not entered the marriage thinking it would be a marriage of convenience, but at this point, she begins to think Basit married her simply to get his inheritance and he wants nothing more from her and wants to have nothing to do with her. She knows that he sees her as a burden that he could have done without. The entire relationship weighs down on Ayesha at this point. We see her dressing up for the dinner but her every movement shows her weariness. When she sees that happy couple in the car, she appreciates the warmth they exude. She is not the jealous type so she smiles to herself seeing their joy, but the contrast is there. Her lonely journey to a dinner supposedly in celebration of her marriage to a man who was not even bothering to answer when she called him. This whole segment is Ayesha settling into her disillusionment.
