So it will cross your lifetime prediction in two days. Yeah very well thought out prediction😆

1300 shows have been cancelled on the very first day ans most of the theatres were havinh barely 3 to 10 people as per the buzz.

If we go krk's claims of amir khan's deal with PVR where he will give them 1cr to inflate numvers by atleast 5 cr everyday, and looking at their official numbers of 10cr for opening day, i think you TM have hit the bulls eye with your predictions.

I will respond back to a few people, but for now, I just want to focus on the collections of LSC! It turns out, my prediction was half CORRECT, and half WRONG!

I was WRONG in predicting a 5 cr opening, as it actually turned out to be an 11 crore opening!!

I was WRONG that the collections would be lower than RB from the opening day all the way until the lifetime collections of each film!

But....

I was CORRECT that the WOM of the film would be negative.

I was CORRECT about the lifetime collections compared to others. I'm sure there were people out there who thought that the film would be a 300 cr grosser or they thought it would atleast be a 100 cr grosser. My lifetime prediction was 21 cr, and the actual lifetime collections are heading to be around approx. 59 cr.

Most importantly, I was CORRECT that the film would be a DISASTER at the box office!!

A big part of it is as an Aamir fan I can’t wrap my mind around his movie, with him as the main star of it, opening at 5cr. The movie is getting a lot of buzz in recent days. All that talk of boycott actually helping.

Paramount is starting to promote it overseas. There are expectations that will do very well abroad. Aamir movies have always done well overseas. I know you are talking strictly Indian box office but it does feel like Paramount getting involved here is also giving it extra buzz in India.

Typically it’s understood that if makers are not confident about the movie they won’t hold any screenings a week in advance. Maybe one day before the release but not a week before the way Aamir has, and apparently he’s planning a couple of more screenings.

Forest Gump at its core is a sweet feel good movie. Why wouldn’t its remake resonate with audiences? LSC has obviously been adapted to work with Indian culture and Indian sensibilities. Even if Aamir Khan’s acting is questionable odds are pretty good the story is told as beautifully as Forest Gump was. Aamir Khan production has that credibility here.

I guess we’ll find out on the 11th. I personally think the movie probably is very well done and that WOM will grow slowly over the weekend. But if you are right and it’s a complete disaster I still think 5cr is too low. I do expect it to open in double digits on.

I did feel that the film would open half of PK (which did 25 crores opening day), so I remember thinking that LSC could open around the 12 crore mark, but then because of the clash with Raksha Bandhan I decided to cut the opening further in halfish and got my 5 cr opening prediction. Me overthinking as usual 😆

And yes, you were off on the numbers but your overall prediction about LSC being a disaster was correct 👍🏼
