Those films were more critically acclaimed than 83!

It's a tough choice among Sidharth Ranveer and Vicky but I think Ranveer deserves the award. I mean have you seen the movie!? He has lived as Kapil Dev. The body language, the mannerisms, he has copied it to the T
the problem is filmfare always awarded the best acclaimed performances in the past even disregarding star status , example Lakshmi won for Julie when nominees were Jaya bhaduri and Suchitra sen
lots of examples like that, though there are some anomalies which are unavoidable.
then they diverged critcial and popular to please and accomodate everyone and lost all credibility
now they are confused whether you want to award the popular or the critical
and the pleasing people who attend its a big mess and has become more irrelevant
Ranveer and Vicky..both fantastic, versatile actors. Both unconventional looking , and make every role given to them special. Brightest stars of the future. They will have many face offs like this.

Don't care about the Filmfare awards....but Ranveer was amazing in '83' and so was the movie...too bad it didn't work....but Ranveer won it fair and square..👍🏼..haven't watched Parineeti's movie so can't comment...
Anyways , when there are several brilliant performances....there will be a difference of opinions....doesn't mean that the award was given to an undeserving person..
I remember the year where PC was nominated for Barfi...Vidya for Kahani...and Sri for English Vinglish....and I think PC won....and there was days of ghamasaan yuddh on the forum as to how one was superior to the other....they all were brilliant....and it all came down to who the judges thought was the best....didn't make the others undeserving...
Did I just hear you praise Ranveer?
…. Faints ! …
Are you giving your personal opinion here? Because there was more critical acclaim for 83 than for SU with RS and the entire ensemble cast receiving wonderful reviews for their performances, simply because more number of eyeballs have watched 83. All the nominees were great this time and deserved to win. Personally I would’ve loved to see SM winning not just because I enjoyed his movie the most but I think it also happens to be the most commercially successful than the rest.
Parineeti kon sa Vidya sa Vidya se better actor hai aur Kriti se jyada popular hai
Kriti deserved it for Mimi
Aisa performance de payegi wo
Pari in SAPF made me fall in love with her all over again
Vicky ko critics ka diya
Uska movie to theater me release ho nahi Raha popular wala kaise milega, he is not a bankable star right now
Ranveer ko hosting ka fee de usse accha award de diya

Sardar Udham was on the list to be India nomination to the Oscar. Compare 83 IMBD rating to Sardar Udham ??? Even the number of reviewers are the same ?
There were def some mixed reviews for 83!

Anyways I never tried to make it a Ranveer Vicky comparison. You just said something completely untrue that it was more acclaimed than Sardar Udham? Was Ranveer even nominated in the best critics category? More eyeballs ? That’s why it bombed?
Ranveer is talented. But in terms of the spotlight it has definitely been more on Vicky this year. He won awards at two major awards functions. He won the popular at IIFA and critics at filmfare. So it clear who has been more acclaimed.
