I can’t believe Ranveer won for 83. I watched the movie other day with my fam , his portrayal of Kapil dev was more like caricature. It has to be a joke . Who will take these awards seriously if they keep going like this ?

I think Ranveer was high when he shot for 83. You can’t act so comical sober. Yet he’s winning awards at international film festivals too. Color me shocked. 😲

They were quite fair this time.

Though i agree, Pari was fabulous in SAPF. Haven't seen Mimi. How's it?

Personal opinion

Vicky Kausal is playing it safe by choosing stories, he's definitely someone to look out for but I don't think he's bankable YET whereas Ranveer takes risk and exploring genres and also play it safe so I think we cannot compare these two. Sidharth definitely deserved the award and it could have been a tie between these two but degrading Ranveer's performance which was also good is low and it was a international highest grosser too with heavy competition so we can't say it's complete flop.

Anyways I never tried to make it a Ranveer Vicky comparison. You just said something completely untrue that it was more acclaimed than Sardar Udham? Was Ranveer even nominated in the best critics category? More eyeballs ? That’s why it bombed?

Ranveer is talented. But in terms of the spotlight it has definitely been more on Vicky this year. He won awards at two major awards functions. He won the popular at IIFA and critics at filmfare. So it clear who has been more acclaimed.

What ended up being Indias Oscar entry ? Or it hasn't been decided yet ?

Vicky did win the Critics Award.

Pari was great in SAPF, but then dont think Vidya Ma'am did not deserve it at all.
