Ghum is based on Virat's understanding of marriage as an institution.
- Ladka-Ladki love each other, but refuses to marry her because his brother also loves her.
- Manipulates/pushes her to marry his brother
- Promises to live in her love, huh how is that fair to your brother? (kya toh bhi)
- Then marries a girl out of high school, saying kabhi pati nahi ban paonga. (Every girl dreams to marry her prince charming, just bcoz she swallowed her pride doesn't mean she agreed to the deal)
- Tells her that "doctor banne ke baad, tum mujhe chod kar ja sakti ho, mein rokonga nahi" (what is this, if you cannot live a platonic relationship with me, you have my permission to leave?)
- Then, apni hi baat (deal) yaad dilao toh itna naraz kyo ho jaate ho (just because you begin to understand meaning of marriage, she has to let go of her pride duh)
- Shaadi ko hi visarjan kar do
- Letting her go (Now I get it, she reminds him of the pre-wedding convo, and him -- "mein nahi rokunga", so he didnt have the guts to stop her)
- Then marries P, with similar conditions, pati nahi ban paonga!
Shaadi hai ya mazaq hai, kuch bhi!!
