The personality gap due to age gap and experience gap is the crux of every age gap love story. Here, the writers have added another layer of gap by making Vidhi out-of-the-world inexperienced and hence naive and seemingly stupid. For us, her charecter might seem out of the place for a city girl but such nativity does exist even today, especially if you go to semi-urban and rural areas. You will find simple-minded trusting people who can easily be cheated. And these things, one learns with experience, which Vidhi doesn't have, firstly because of her family's sheltering culture and second because of her inherent scared personality traits (could be triggered more by people's taunts every now and then that she is good for nothing).

Anyway, coming to the point as to what would attract Dev towards Vidhi. I think this is exactly what would attract him (and has already started to make a place in his heart), her out-of-the-world nativity and innocence as he keeps telling her in awe many-a-times - "Kya ho tum Ms. Vidhi". Dev is surrounded by worldly responsibility since a very young age and Vidhi's stupidity though irritates him at times, he is often taken aback by her simplicity. Her unpolluted naive approach towards the world shows him a new perspective at times (like the "lohe ki kulhadi" story). In his own words - "Han tum irritating ho, par kuch toh khas hai tum mein."

@ bold Amba is the one who promoted and asked vidhi to call her Mrs Raichand. She never corrected vidhi or said that she is not his wife. Also kanika and company encouraged her misunderstnding. yes she is kid but her assumption now is not wrong. even dev did not tell her the girl in the picture is not my daughter in the office when she said your daughter is pretty. She has had interaction with the people those are directly involved but no one tell her the otherwise. so if she does not confirm it can not be her fault.

I was misguided like this for a couple and many years ( more than 10) I used to think they are husband and wife, where as they were only friends.

They presented dev as sorted mature man and vidhi as foolish naive but today he seemed so stupid to act this way without thinking

Sometimes people do mistake us for someone else we don't start shouting at them we clarify

In today's episode he was angry at her for spreading gossip but no one in their sane mind print cards if they are not sure and he knows vidhi can't do something like this just to create drama she can't print whole invitation card with mrs dev R name

It would have looked understandable if he heard talking vidhi about amba being his love or gf or like about abhimanyu and Priya they do not have good equation or priya blackmails dev or his mother but if he has some mind he could have easily realised she actually believed amba is his wife not a rumour she think of this as fact

She directly asked dev and amba not kept talking but actually thought them to be husband and wife and invited as chief guest

why didn't he ask vidhi why you think amba is mrs dev Raichand or why he didn't ask amba why you accepted the card as mrs dev R

Even sometimes in real life we misunderstand situation and can not guess actual relationship but other one should Clear confusion not create drama
