Rich families tend to be conservative by nature many times and its more about image/perception management when they don't want the women of their families to work in offices.....in the 70s, women were considered to be good for nothing other than housework maybe....but now they don't want women to work cuz they feel it will make their sons look inferior in comparison 😆.....in the 70s, you didn't have scenarios where sons wanted to sit home and cook while the wife wanted to be a CEO in the office.....lol so the stakes are different for those trying to suppress working women now.

As for Priya, she is no angel just cuz she is frustrated about not getting to work. No one is stopping her from walking out of this marriage if she considers her husband such a loser and feels "caged" by this family.....why is she sitting there all day berating them about EVERYTHING constantly? I haven't seen her be nice to a single person....not even her own kid....are we to justify all this simply cuz she's frustrated about not getting to work in an office? Yeah that doesn't fly with me. Nothing justifies misbehavior just cuz of your professional frustrations in life.

Anyways, this entire scenario is a parallel to the Mahabharat storyline of Satyavati and Bhishma trying to prop up the male successors of the throne at any cost even when they weren't qualified to be Kings....same is happening here with Abhi not really being capable of handing the business but Satyavati wants the Raichand lineage to be maintained via her son, not the daughters or DILs. This is about power and Priya very well knew what she was marrying into as Satyavati reminded her yesterday....she just wanted the power of being the wife of a powerful man and she is frustrated that her husband isn't powerful like she wanted him to be. Satyavati is trying to manage the balance of power and keep it in her son's favor rater than letting her DIL take over.

Exactly!! Plus if I am not wrong this Priya and her family were shown to be the typical judgemental stereotypical rich brat looking down upon everyone on the wedding episode and were being rude to every other human..simply caz they thought they were so so high class.so no that Priya is no angel..she is overall a bitter class conscious badtameez ladki who thinks she owns every other person..it is not like the raichands are not upto her status but her view of being rich and being upper class is the typical nasty kind..yes raichands ate rich but none of them so far is shown to be hailing their richness they all seem pretty normal casual people so far being rich is part of their lives not their entire life like this woman

I agree priyas definitely not an angel not even a nice person from what I have observed uptill now but I feel when the topic of discussion in dev's house is abhminayu and priyas marriage then why not just let her work ..dev was giving his brother a company even though he knew he can't handle it.. satyavati can bend a little although in precap she has given priya the authority over house..

But dialogues like "aurtein ghar ke ander sambhalein" are problematic and I think would be for dev and viddhi since viddhi is now the sole earner of her family..I hope at that time dev takes a stand for her.

Problematic how? They are establishing a backdrop for how Satyavati thinks....how else will she convey her stance? Even Vidhi's dad said the same the same thing when he was opposing Vidhi working....just because he has changed his stance now after being convinced by Vidhi, no one is upset with him any longer? 😆

It's a story...it has to go through establishing a backdrop before evolving the characters through it. If every character already is a perfectly sorted and progressive character, what story is there to show then? 😆

Why not give some time for Satyavati's perspective to evolve on this? Dev clearly doesn't subscribe to these notions given how he encouraged Vidhi to work....his family dynamic is different than Vidhi's so it will take a different path for things to evolve there.

Such a nice epi today again! The way they are building up Dev-Vidhi right now is so subtle and heartwarming *touchwood*

I didn't think we would get such a sweet continuation/conclusion to the car ride scene today😆. Slowly but surely, Vidhi is managing to make a deep impression on Dev. The way she says things in the simplest, most matter of fact way but somehow still manages to give pause to Dev and make him reflect. Like her ice cream party/treat wala funda today and the way Dev smiled when she said that anything you happily eat with your family is as good as a party only😆

Now I'm wondering if the makers had this arc about Dev's sorry planned all along when they showed him going overboard in shouting at Vidhi the other day😆.....because the sorry came about when we least expected it....lol Dev didn't reflect on his behavior that day but today he was apologizing sincerely to her after realizing on his own - without needing a reminder/nudge 😆. But then lo and behold, Vidhi so matter of factly told him that he owes her an apology for the PREVIOUS incident, not the one from today😆.....and the way Dev's eyes just crinkle in amusement as he repeats once again in bemused awe "Kya HO tum"😆.....and then chuckles ki who keeps hisaab kitaab of sorry and thank you? 😆....toh Vidhi calmly says that yeh sab toh yaad reh hi jaata hai😆.....this is NORMAL for her and then Dev again cracks up saying that nothing can be normal when it comes to her😆.....kal tak toh this guy was just doing smiles in amusement hearing her chatter but today he progressed into full on open throated laughter 😆.

He switches between being amused at her fundas and then talking to her like she's a child that he has to patiently give an explanation to pacify her whimsies 😆.....bol diya ki yeh aaj wala sorry us din ki galti ke liye ADJUST kar dena and aage ke saare sorry/thank yous ka balance sheet bana lena😆....Dev couldn't even contain his amusement once he got back in the car and was even laughing with his driver ki suna tumne? Sorry ka bhi hisaab kitaab hota hai? lol toh his driver remarks ki this is the first time he's seen his boss laughing openly like this.

And they continued the thread even later on as Dev thinks about Vidhi's ice cream party funda when he's sitting at the dinner table with his family and trying to lighten the atmosphere....slowly but surely, Vidhi's fundas are sticking with him - he thinks about her philosophies even when she's not in front of him....lol

It was a well balanced epi overall even with the family scenes on both side....as usual, the Vidhi side of the family scenes were nicer....I liked how the ladies all rallied and convinced Vidhi's dad to accept the gifts without making some long term drama out of it. Dev's family as usual is pressing him about getting married on the other side but he's brushing them off as usual....lol

On a random note, Vidhi's lingo is quite hilarious....the kind of words she uses like "CHILLAPOT"🤣.....all her mannerisms have really grown on me....even the way she rambles to herself and then goes "Nahin nahin"😆

Hello...I used to read your review on patiala babes too . Serial and review both were good but kne fine day they wanted to change the story line into some other direction I didn't find appealing when mini became miss righteous and babes became insecure stupid women and Hanuman Singh my fav became unlikeable I stopped watching that

I used to comment on the forum posts but not frequently so you might not remember me

About the serial I am really liking this not so much drama when I come back from office I can't handle high voltage drama so stopped watching some of the serials but this new show seemed good so binge watched it a few days ago and watching daily from now on . I like the lead couple, and their families for once brother and sister are not some greedy gold digger who kept forgetting their brother and just want his property and keep planning and plotting few negative character like Priya/chachi is okay

Also vidhi is not like some very pretty cute girl that gets every one's attention she is simple average but unique and she is in her element that makes her lovable she doesn't look like she is trying to act cute but she genuinely appears cute

Hey, welcome to the forum :) Oh yes, Patiala Babes was nice initially but they ruined it later on with fixation on painting Mini as a victim. The early discussions on the forum where nice while they lasted :)

Anyways, this show seems good for now and even the drama is not as senseless high-voltage as in other shows right now. Hope it remains watchable for some time atleast cuz options are very limited on ITV these days😆

@bold: Totally agree with what you said about Vidhi😊....she stands out from typical ITV FLs who try to act cute/bubbly....as Dev repeats many times....kuch ALAG hai Vidhi😆

USP of the show and the only reason to watch the show I like drama but can't handle high voltage this is perfect, balanced

Rarely business man ML go to office and we rarely see normal office scenes

Didn't really have anything to say for the last two epis of Priya drama....but I feel like precap might be Vidhi's dream that Dev is shouting at her for breaking his trust.

Yes, you are right, there was too much negativity and not much progress. You were spot on about Priya being quite negative. Initially, I used to think, that she is bitter because of being forced to sit at home despite being qualified and interested to work in name of family tradition. I think you are right that she is overall negative.

Dev respects his mom so much that he would not even attempt to make her understand that it was ok for women to work or maybe she could work from home etc or some lines in that direction but YET, has so guilt or has the mindset to "HIDE"/LIE to his mom about making Priya the owner of the company and allowing her to run the company? That shows so much deviation from his character. Is it just me who felt that? Maybe also when it comes to Vidhi, he is going to hide many things conveniently?
