Kashyap has been living on his past goodwill. Anyhow in the interview he is saying what people want to hear. He hardly follows anything he preaches.

exactly to all the points others made,

he has some sense which is uncommon in most current bw but doesnt practice anything he preaches

he is currenty on rgv track but rgv made more varied and successful and cult films then him and crashed

he has a couple of good movies but most are heavily influenced by european, american arty aesthetics

my fav of his is black friday

he is either hobnobbing at venice film festival or with the elites of bw and seems to combine pretentiousness with the sermons and bitterness

the problem is you have to be a learner all your life, little success and they become pompous and think they know everything,

why is he talking about rrr or eega, bb now, because it has got western appluase which he never foresaw, you were contemptous of audience who liked such movies and now you are grudgingly ok with it

keep looking westwards and you will never be original,

and it is not even influences, all indian filmmakers are influenced, inspired by west, afterall cinema began there but you have to make movies for your primary audience, not for pleasing some critics and jury
