It’s one thing to like a movie but I have seen many celebs claiming how LSC is a masterpiece , 5 stars movie and must watch . This sets up unrealistic expectations and ultimately fools the public. They should keep their mouths shut at least till the movie is officially released.

What are you talking about? This film is very "classist and elitist". Only Bollywood understands this masterpiece 😉

In all seriousness, I think a lot of Bollywood would actually appreciate Aamir's cartoony acting because they don't care about the nuance of playing a disabled character. It was disrespectfully bad and many in the audience saw that.

Not to mention the religious message Aamir was sending out with the army, and Pakistan while fighting a defensive war....is plain stupid. Any army personnel would be annoyed. The Vietnam war was an offensive war and the Colonel Forrest saved was from America.

The underwear thing was very cringe. Jenny had such a big role to play, especially with her diagnosis and behavior in the movie, but they cut down too much of Kareena's Rupa. She was supposed to be the polarizing woman that made Forrest Gump so interesting.

Also it was too long.

But it takes guts to tell Aamir how bad it was because he is always so overconfident in himself. They all probably saved face.

Yes I did.

One interesting narrative about Lt Dan in Vietnam was his journey with religion and how he dealt with not living up to his expectations.

The Vietnam war was one supported by heavily religious people, and one where most people were conscripted into. That's why many veterans struggled with their relationships with God.

That didn't make any sense with the character of Mohammed and Lal Singh Chadda. The idea of religious unity is a theme in all Aamir Khan movies, but they shouldn't have tied it during the war scene (I get why the riots would tie in) simply because it makes a mockery of Aamir's character.

Aamir's acting was already more of a mockery of people with disabilities, but the way they introduced Mohammad's character and Lal saving him was basically unbelievable.

The idea behind Forrest Gump was that he was an "unaware" character in an aware environment - but they basically messed with that in LSC and made it less relatable.

This should stop the Hollywood wannabe stuff

Trying to be Hollywood ain’t it for Bollywood. Their unique for their own reason. Hollywood and European films have their own appeal.

My question was about what you meant by ‘defensive war’

India did perform the last rites for the Pakistani dead soldiers haven’t they? Anyway, him saving the guy completely was within the character considering that he doesn’t know how to discriminate. What I found absolutely weird was how the heck did they let him lose in the country and not put him in the jail or whatever.

Where exactly did they show LSC as an aware character?

My biggest gripe with the movie is the way it went for scene to scene copy of the OG.

I agree with your bolded part.

What I meant is that part of the problem with the Vietnam war was the forced conscription and the fact that America was fighting a proxy war they didn't need to, and had absolutely no business meddling in Vietnam.

The Kargil War was a defensive war, (in fact it is technically not a war at all) and what I mean by that is it was a military response to aggresive shelling. Performing last rites was also something India did (because of the high altitudes), but saving a fundamentalist doesn't make any sense because of the way the Kargil War was fought between both sides. Like there were no consequences to what Lal did too.

Kind of made a mockery of his character because it was heavily unrealistic with unrealistic acting. I think there was a better way to introduce the character of Mohammed while making Lal's point.

My gripe with LSC was that they didn't show LSC as an aware character. In Forrest Gump there is a scene where he protests segregation - that was a moment where he was aware. Where was that in LSC?
