There have been runours of theatres being empty even during dangal and pk. Dangal fetched 2000 cr from china and noone even knew that the movie was released there. You think it made that kinda collections when there is zero cultural exchange between the two countries?

The difference in then and now is that they cant fake it anymore due to the loss of monopoly and power. I dont think he has guts to jndulge in hawala transactions from enemy countries in current situation.

Amir khan is known for gis creative inteference in every movie he makes, he was also part producer he was the face thsts known to public more than hirani and he took all the credit for movies collections which gis fans keep bragging about till today.

This makes sense. Audience is fed up of all Bollywood mediocrity, not just Khans. Just ask the 2 Rans, Varun, the 3 Khans. Star power is not enough anymore, thank God. People want their money's worth.

A patriotic film like 83 couldnt do much at the box office either, it has nothing to do with Khans, ppl rather watch movies at home its just as simple as that. If Bollywood wants to survive they should make movies with the minimum budget.
