Pure hearted? More like dim witted and self absorbed. She should have known he was in love with the person he'd been writing to for 15 years. Every time he questioned her about how different she was from their correspondence she knew enough to change the subject - so not wholly dim witted. She couldn't be bothered to e-mail him once in 15 years but when she saw he was hot (and rich) then she wanted him. She had only known Raj for 2 weeks as an adult when she accepts his parents marrying him to her - all the while knowing anything they had between them was based on a lie. She confesses days (or maybe just a day) before the wedding she didn't write to him - and does it publicly like it's no big deal. Meanwhile she kept pushing Pooja toward Uday - what kind of friend does that? 😆 She was a self obsessed diva and a terrible friend to Pooja until the very last ridiculous moment when she grew some self awareness and a conscience.

Agreed …also I got a slight hint always that she thought pooja was “less interesting / hot/ desirable “ than her …

Like their conversation abt marriage and she says She’s gonna have a love marriage …and she asks pooja if she ever fell in love with raj but then dosent let her speak and says “ur a good girl …U will just marry where ur parents tell u to”…as if pooja can’t fall in love or what lol…god forbid with a hot guy …

She never bothered to ask or follow up with pooja if she was ok with her dating raj (I mean they wrote to each other for 15 years they gotta have some attachement right ?)…never noticed poojas sad little face everytime her and raj were together …like 0 emotional intelligence or care factor

On the surface she wasn’t mean to her per say, but she did take her for granted…and push her around as if she has no agency/ choice of her own …she never asked for her opinion in the whole uday situation and was only eager to get them married (probs because she can wear more new clothes, dance at more sangeets or something shallow like that lol)

I also didn’t think she loved raj …probs attracted to him but that’s it …they didn’t have compatibility and she was delusional enough to turn a blind eye to everything coz she could spend the rest of her life being taken care of without having any ambition , no career and not even an inclination towards looking after the home / cooking / cleaning etc etc

Basically no intention to put in any work from her end ….expecting to have everything fall into her lap coz she’s “hot” lol

This movie irritates me to no end. It’s like the director was hell-bent on trying to sell the narrative that Rani’s character was unattractive. Her makeup, hairstyle and even wardrobe was so unnecessarily shit compared to Kareena.

Someone should’ve told the director that you can be introverted and studious while still being pretty. It’s not like they put some massive pimple the size of an orange on her face, or gave her the Jassi Jassi Koi Nahin exaggerated look to convince the audience that she’s “unattractive”. It was just Rani being Rani. 😳

Well Pooja herself was not confident enough about her looks, then why blame others? That scene where Raj goes directly to Tina, she should have easily told him that it was her who wrote the letters & not Tina. She herself was insecure & most flawed caharacter of the movie😆

Also Tina was portrayed a DIVA in the movie. Ofcourse Raj was supposed to fall for her compared to a simple looking Pooja LOL

The filmmakers should've been sued for shoving Kareena down our throats as "beautiful and hot" girl. She was, is and ever will be - anything but hot and beautiful...

The appropriate term would be colorism. I think the general point though is valid.

Raj was obsessed with Tina’s looks since childhood, so I guess that made him completely overlook Pooja’s beauty. On top of being fixated, he also thought Tina had a smashing personality since he was chatting online with Pooja the whole time.

In all honesty, Raj acted like a douche for most of the film, but Pooja doesn’t get any brownie points for misleading the guy for 10 years. Had I found out that the guy I thought I was talking to was in fact someone else, then I would’ve dumped both their asses (reference to Tina and Pooja)

The only person who did no true harm was bechara Rohan. 😆

honestly though, if it was a guy in place of Rani's character, it would have been creepy...don't think girls like being catfished by guys! but girls doing it, like Rani did in MDK, is kinda cute cause u know girls ain't that creepy!
