Saw it in the theatre. Mostly because I loved the songs.

Aishwarya looked like a dream, arguably her best, beauty which leaves a lump in the throat and makes you awe-struck. I still listen to the title song.

Apart from that, Akshaye Khanna acted really well. Storyline may not be great, but it was implemented well. Subhash Ghai's last decent film.

For me, Taal is more style than substance. Disjointed scenes, a spineless hero, Anil Kapoor's caricaturist act all melted away into the way the way the film was showcased, which was superb. Technically, it worked at so many levels.

Arguably, the best soundtrack of 1999 and the way the songs came up at exactly the right moments made it worth watching. And I have to repeat, Aishwarya reminded me of a Disney princess - delicate and fragile, somehow every male must have wanted to protect her.

Not a film I ever re-watched, but it was a pleasant experience in the theatre.

Fun trivia - Akshaye was in love with Aishwarya, or so it is speculated

Akshaye Khanna was once asked who he finds the sexiest woman in the industry to which he replied - Aishwarya Rai

"I can’t take my eyes off her every time I meet her I have done two films with her. She might be used to be people looking at her. For me, it's embarrassing I am not used to not being able to take my eyes off somebody. You just keep staring at her like a lunatic."
