I made the mistake of watching. Long rant coming.
Please tell me:
What happened between Ram fuming over Krish and this "only for you" birthday celebration? Birthday parole, kya?
What does Ram want? If he wants Priya, on what grounds? If he simply wants Priya in the other sense, how does he justify that? I mean, being so sanskari and all, unlike her.
[To me it looks like physical desire. Ram loved Priya because of her qualities, who she was. Who even is this Priya? All I see are her curls and prettier clothes, some motherhood aspects, but no fire, nothing of the traits that defined who she was. So is he "loving" the memory of Priya?]
What does Priya want? Where is her agency? Is Priya2 doomed to simply acquiesce willingly to staring contests, touches, stupid romancing, in dreams or reality? Sorry, this isn't being helpless because of lurvvveee or desire, it is close to having little or no self-respect.
These so-called romantic scenes are an embarrassment to me. I clinically watch NM's signiture moves, able to predict the eyebrow raise and expressions. DP's too. Zero impact.
Priya annoys me with her lack of initiative, thought (of anything beyond the mundane and constant "Pihu mustn't find out, what will happen to Ishaan if the truth comes out), and her bland decisions to help Ram, almost by rote. OhMrKapoorIsSoGoodIMustHelp/Protect Him.
What also annoys me is the unexplained u-turn in her habits and priorities, her beliefs and actions. I guess we're supposed to just ignore it, but again and again I see Priya when Ram first came to her house, that farmhouse scene after she found out Ram cancelled the wedding, post anulment papers at Adi-Brinda's, holi Priya, refusing to forgive Ram when Akki was exonerated...who is this and why am I watching her? I don't have as many problems with her actions as I do with her Self. Where is the Self? Why would I be at all invested in this absolute sham of a story or a love that crumbled so easily (more Ram's fault, in my opinion) that the cvs are now intending to fan into flames which just look like those cheap artificial fires you see?
I think Doc said that original Ram and Priya are hiding within these versions of Ram and Priya. I don't think so. They've been rebooted for good, and while Ram will emerge with minimal damage, Priya won't, not in more than flashes.
I protest (uselessly, I know), at the fact that while Ram is allowed chances to show his feelings, justified or not, rant, impress, my (as is true for a lot of us here) reason for watching this show is lost in fripparies like ugly dream dresses she'd have once scoffed at; mindless, monotonous monologues; no spunk, no backbone, nothing.
I think I need a break again.
