The participating families do have a point, compared to the wild card entries they will end-up putting more time and energy into this competition. But such is the format of reality shows nowadays, so tough luck, they should understand that, do their best and leave the rest to luck.
Ajay & co could have handled the issue a lot more diplomatically instead of losing their cool and making it a hungama. They could have heard them out, then said that from their point of view rules are rules and they don't see why it should be changed, but they will discuss the issue with the Zee TV authorities of the show, who in turn will speak with the participants and help resolve their misgivings.
Having said that, it does puzzle me that Zee is somehow involved in 'encouraging' these controversies as it stands to benefit from it in terms of viewership, as all these issues can easily be discussed off camera... tsk, tsk, guess All's fair in reality shows and trps...
