Can this show survive without Anuj?

This show was topping TRP charts and breaking records since it's inception when Anuj was not even introduced. But after 1 year of introducing Anuj, do you think this show will survive without him? If they focus on the main theme of the show which is woman empowerment by showing Anu managing business and family all by herself after demise of Anuj, will the show still get 2.8+ ratings?

In my opinion if Anuj dies the show will get TRP below 2 even if they focus on the woman empowerment issue. It worked initially because of the uniqueness of the concept. A mother's journey to self discovery was a novel concept for Hindi TV. But a widow struggling to strike a balance between family and career is something that has been shown in all Ekta shows at some point. There is nothing new. Rupali and Sudhanshu are powerful actors no doubt but only AnuRaj tashan is not possible to carry a show. Currently the show is watched by loyal MaAn fans who only watch this snooze fest just to see a glimpse of them. The original ended with Anuj's death because they knew nobody would watch after his death.

Yes it will survive, the content on ITV is atrocious. Will be thrive like before? unlikely.

As you said, its been done already in the first 400 or so episodes.

I remember asking the same question to my friend after Akshara was killed in yeh rishta😆 But the show is still standing... I stopped watching after Naira grew up and Shivangi entered the show... but new fans and new people came in Shivangi and Mohshin had a new fan base then after they were killed again Harshad and Pranali have a new fan base and the show is still surviving... That too in top 5 trp...

So it may if RS pulls the same stunt here too... You see he won't kill the entire cast... Even there the leads were the only one who were changed... all the background actors remained... initially the maheshwaris and singhanias were there after Akshara's death and after Naira's death the Goenkas are still there... If RS is planning the same stunt here...then only MaAn will die.. So it all depends on the new young actors... In this case maybe the grown up Choti Anu and her new male lead... If their chemistry works, a new fan base will be created and a new set of people will start liking the show... as I saw in yrkkh 90% of the loyal viewers won't stay... initially the trp would dip and then it would rise if the couple and fresh story works... then it would stay stable... but will it touch the peak this show touched? No it won't... as a set of the loyal viewers would never return again

Oh and if RS decides to keep Anupamaa alive after Anuj's death... the trp would sink... so I think he would kill both of them...

But in yrkkh there was a coma track... Naitik was in coma... but the track was so well handled as there were no villains like what is shown here... The effects of a sick bedridden person in a family was beautifully shown... but the track was only for 2 weeks I think... after that he opened his eyes and his recovery was shown so well... it was relatable... the family supported Akshara and there were a lot of beautiful drama around it...

Here if Anuj goes to coma... the vultures will be behind her for property and it would be so horrible to see her plight so the trps will definitely sink... even trp audience want some positivity...

So I think he would kill both of them if he does want to kill...

The issue with this show currently is that they have diverted from the USP - women empowerment. They started it off by showing how she has been managing everything - saw the good in everything. Then there was this divorce and still she kept up with the household and her academy. Then we saw AK - so some professional development but since the wedding, everything is now back to the semi circle.

If they plan to kill off Anuj at this point, all they will show is: she managing CA which was Anuj’s sapna WITHOUT him and the Kapadia/Property WITHOUT him AND managing her dance because that was also at some point her and Anuj’s dream. And be cordial with Shahs AND manage that household too. Like some superwoman!!!!!

But that’s not something that will work for more than 3-4 weeks max because - a) they cannot not show shahs in every frame which means that all her managing alone will have shahs ; b) even offline audience won’t accept her running to that house - infact, they don’t even now

So they may attempt and will have to push for leap soon after ONCE they’ve finalised the new star cast.

Yes, I agree with Tiana also, they may not fade everyone off and will retain Baa for sure and maybe Vanraj if he agrees (also depending on the leap duration - 2/5 years or more)

But one thing is for sure, they cannot have either or in this case. It is either maAn or no one. They tried this twice on Yrkkh - after akshara, they faded away naitik. After kartik, they faded away sirat.

Some part of the audience may still watch but they’ll lose a majority chunk. Also that would mean, them being ok with going down to spot 2 because all these actual and legit transitions take time.

Now coming on to why Yrkkh is in top 5 - that show has been going on for years. It has a) a set fanbase b) Harshad and Pranali individually not only have a good fanbase but an amazing PR team (they are topping the jodi and fictional character charts week on week. Inspite of anupama and Anuj being loved) so that is what is helping that show stay afloat. With anupama, that’s not the case. There may have a fanbase but it wasn’t as known as it now because of Anuj and the change he has brought on the show.

Tbh, I see this to be the last gen of Yrkkh if it lasts that long. Any besides the point. IMO, AnuRaj tashan won’t last long neither will she being a mahaan MAA!

It will be back to the same as before. Nothing changes and people are fed-up. The show may go the way Sapna Babul ka show did, when the main leads were replaced and show closed in 3-4 months after leap.

I think it will have more impact on online trps.

I thought YRKKH won't be able to survive without Kaira but it is still surviving and is in top 5 shows. They killed off the male lead in Kundali Bhagya but the show is actually garnering a higher rating. So yeah here it may also work. But chances are a bit low as YRKKH fan base is not same as Anupama. But for it to work they obviously have to introduce a leap with new pair. Anupama without Anuj won't work at this stage. I just don't understand why are they hell bent on showing a leap. The show is topping the chart, getting decent ratings. Why this hurry to introduce a leap? Is the friend not happy with how the show is going?

Anu managing alone won't work for more than 1 month. Then to keep the show afloat they have to introduce a leap. YRKKH is based on multiple marriages, divorces, miscarriages. So leaps work in YRKKH. I am not sure whether it will be same for Anupama. CA getting married in an orthodox family and trying to break free does not sound interesting at least to me. Currently the makers have no future story. They don't even know what to do with Kinjal baby or the Shahs.

The generational leap in YRKKH makes sense but here it doesn’t. This show is about a middle aged woman finding hope after going through an abusive marriage and a divorce.. wtf will they show post leap? How will it stay a woman empowerment show?
