They had set a decent premise. They could have continued like that.

First and foremost, they should have casted a better and younger actor for Sufiyan ( like Daniyal Afzal, or Adeel Chaudhary, or any decent soap actor as off course, we cant expect big names as villain when Usama is himself not a big name. There was no need for Hujaifa and his family in the story. They could have given Hujaifa's shades to Sufiyan anf worked on his characteristics to make him a proper villain along with his parents. Now, They could have kept Naima positive and played a cupid between Ushroz. Now, coming to Ushroz, there could have been a proper slow burn between them. There was no need to make them fall in love just after Nikah..They could have continued with their banters hating each other . They could have delayed that adoption truth for later. I wanted to see more of Zainab and Shehroz's bonding. I wanted to see Naima and Zainab coming closer as friends. I wanted to see Wahab and Shehroz coming closer because of Zainab and Ushna.. I wanted Ushna to explore her feelings for Shehroz. I wanted to see her confessing her love for him in front of Sufiyan and told him to back off.

They could have explored so much even if it was a soap. There was no point to show unnecessary stuff. Even the small family talks on dining table could have done wonders. Life and Relationship talks between Shehroz and Zainab time to time could have brought the change. How i wanted to see Ushna getting closer to Naima and Shehroz to Zainab than even to their own moms. We could have seen something different. How Shehroz could have encouraged Ushna to go for higher studies and they all could have cherished her success as a family.

How they could have focussed on Zainab and Naima talking about Ushna and Shehroz and teasing them time to time for their fights and their new love development..Why no positive things in shows. Why only planning and plotting is being shown .Small small things can do wonders. They dont have to write anything extraordinary. Just look at the beautiful aspects of life, and you will find umpteen things to show and fill the episodes. Alas!!

Pak writers should take notes from korean slice of life romantic dramas. There is literally zero negativity but every single emotional scenes hit right at your heart and won't have too many romantic scenes either. For pak drama standards there will be one or two kissing scenes but they can simply cut out. They also only hold hands and talk to each other most of the times. One of the biggest kdrama rom-com hit crash landing on you barely had any intimate scenes. The leads were dating and are married now but still there wasn't any hot scenes in that drama. So it's perfectly possible to write good positive romantic stories without any physical intimacy.

Also those dramas might be on serious topics that will only appeal to class audience and not to the masses.

Kdrama is the only industry that is attracting all kind of audiences through their content. They release literally every genre dramas every year.

Kdramas have big budget and good platforms like netflix. Unfortunately Pak does not have that much resources.

Yeah Pak dramas need improvement. Instead of following itv. They need to bring new progressive content.

What is wrong with ARY?

Dramas ko hit karwaney ky liye leads ko use kiya aur ab sideline kardiya :(

Exactly , the problem is with the characterisation. They suddenly changed Shehroz into lover boy after Nikah and after Rukhsati , he is back to square 1. Same with Ushna, From strong , fierce, she becomes weak, then back to strong. Naima from positive to full time Naagin . Sufiyan from nice cousin to stalker ,murderer, theif 🤢 Rafaqat and Raeesa from bad to sane. Wahab from sensible to pendulum to spineless. Only Hujaifa and family and Sadaf are consistent from the start and these are those characters who arent adding anything significant to the story. 😳

Wah Renee

Nice write up

Exactly they can make a simple story impressive by working on characterization of characters, by good execution and by progressive stories. In this drama if sautans would have good relationship till end. Then it would have been such a progressive message

Suno chanda gave more than enough screentime to the leads along with other characters and there were enough nok jhok and romance b/w arsal and jiya with just 30-31 episodes. Here we got the leads together under one roof at episode 19-20 and still barely had 5-10mins screen time at max till date.

Zindagi Gulzar hai had romance and enough screentime for the leads even though there were episodes in between without a single scene of the leads together.

Humsafar had decent amount of romance.

Ishq jalebi also had decent amount of screentime for the leads if i remember correctly.

None of these dramas had physical intimacy.

And here we don't even know what exactly happened during Suhagraat- The root cause. Why do they think we are interested in Naima's nagmani and Sufi sapola's sasta swag, they could have provided written update of first night if cannot show.

Kdramas started having big budgets just recently and Korean film industry is also very new if we compare it to Hollywood or Bollywood and still managed to come up with such amazing contents and ended up winning an Oscar.

Malayalam film industry don't have 10% of the budget Bollywood has and still comes up with contents that Bollywood never even thought of. Malayalam industry even managed to make way better superhero movie than ra.one or Krish with 10% of the budget of those movies. An average Malayalam films budget is same as a pak movie and also have lesser population.

Having big budget don't have anything to do with coming up with good content.

Tvf don't have the budget of pak dramas and they still come up with amazing contents and don't have usual bold scenes which are shown in other Indian webseries.

am in the minority but I really don't mind the drama and the way it has turned out. am sitll not over how innovative "murder by soup" was -- reminds me of my favourite agatha christie novels/dramas 😂

I feel rather than seriousness, they should have leaned in more into camp and straight on soap. initially I was a bit surprised by the turn in naima but looking back, the signs were already there. she was bit too bothered when wahab took revenge on rafaqat-- she felt left out and was seemed bothered.

if it was ITV, they would have amplified those scenes with lots of close ups and bang bang music 😂... basically hit us over the top of our head. in that way, I find PK soaps at times confusing because they are so vague. maybe I am too used to ITV type in your face silliness (like two characters being in the same room but not seeing each other) that it becomes difficult for me to connect the dots. maybe it is cultural differences as well in addition to language but without a forum like this, I would have struggled to fill in some of the blanks.

with the best ITV villains (such as komalika), the audience have a love-hate relationship. they love the badass one-liners and antics but at the same disapprove. there is something both comical as well as moustache twirling. in some ways, sufiyan cracks me up like that at the moment. with naima, it is instead veering towards scary feels and alarm. that means you don't enjoy those scenes and you are not necessarily curious about what is next -- I watch a lot of crime patrol / savdaan india and what not series on youtube. basically there is a kind of campiness that draws you in despite the grim plot. that was the magic factor that wasn't enough in this drama for me.

and like others said, some more romantic scenes that show development between the couple -- I feel like some of these characters are too quick to fall in love after marriage. it happens so fast that you wonder if it is infatutation or the magic of suhagraat. 🤣... and then just as quickly dissolve into petty fights -- so much for the love potion! 😂
