Just like we have sections in a particular forum for General Announcements, Sticky Threads etc., we could also show maybe 4-5 recently updated fanfictions.

This gives more visibility to the fanfiction section and also motivates a writer to update their work.

👍🏼

Maybe it can be for recently added/updated FFs that appear like ads within the forum. Maybe it can somehow link to the new FF section so when it's clicked it takes you there?

Current plan is:

G (general audiences)

M (mature audiences / 13+)

R (restricted, no children under 17 allowed)

X (no one under 21 admitted and would require to update their profile with Date of Birth).

I think these are good. Usually with books this is looking at age appropriateness so I don't think there needs too many. Maybe we should just specify for writer what type of topics/content would fall under each, so as not to run into confusions for those unfamiliar with it.

In FF/WC forums there was always suggestion for authors to add content warnings at start of their stories. Maybe this can be incorporated somewhere, like on the page with "Summary" / "Author's Note". Or being able to see it maybe in Table of Content beside chaps as a flag.

Have more filters in Fan Fiction so that we can see stories based on their status like Ongoing / Completed.

Basically a better search.

This is last one, then I'm done smiley36

Regarding filtering, can it be like advanced search options - being able to add different things at once, like search a specific genre with original vs fanfiction. Completed vs Ongoing. Selecting the age appropriate rating (whatever system you end up putting in place).

Also can add searching by specific author - though i know you can go to member profile and find fics that way too but sometimes that's just an extra step that takes you away from the FF section, so maybe this will be easier.

The Rating as marked in the Edit pages will be shown in the List and Story pages soon.

So that users are aware.

This option will only be available to FanFiction Editors only.

Thank you so much. It is going to be so much helpful... Also, I can see the rating tags... they are looking so nice.

For easy access to the Genre list we have updated the drop down to show all Genres that are currently with us.

Please go through the list that is there. If someone can help us with the updated list we will ensure that those Genres are added.

Since this list is shared with movies/shows also it may appear little weird (for ex: Silent). Once we have some more time in hand we will update this also so that it only shows FanFiction specific Genres.

I am hoping that by tomorrow we should have the FanFiction type also available. So that its easier to filter FanFiction by Type: OneShot / TwoShot etc

More genre that can be added to the list: - Mystery

-Paranormal

-Young Adult

-Angst

-Supernatural

-Utopian and Dystopian

-Erotic

-Fluff

No that’s not the story I am talking about… it is not even migrated in the new section. There are many stories that has more than 1k likes and it’s for general audience but unfortunately they are not migrate for you to see it in the fan fiction section. Since I am pretty active that why all my stories are migrated. Well, once upon a time I used to be popular author 🤷🏻‍♀️ MC or no MC.

PS: I know that 1k means 1000 and not 100.. 😀
Regarding the rating of the story Pawn, it’s still R rated. But in future I would be editing hence the trigger warning. Don’t worry we still have a month time to edit things.

One more thing, if a story has potential, MC or No MC it will have readers, likes and engagement.

I don’t think the most popular filter is implemented yet…

It’s an open forum, anybody can read whatever they want to as long as they give their consent to read. As I have said earlier we are not here to check and verify their age. We have implemented the date of birth column we will stick to that. If someone is lying or forging their age it’s upon them and not upon us..

Well said Appy, I fully agree with you,esp the bold part.

Writing at a reader’s preferred level doesn’t push them away, it draws them into your work. It enhances their reading experience, allowing them to spend their energy on the content and quality of writing, rather than having to work to read. It enables them to get lost in the story and enjoy it.

The simple mantra for drawing readers towards our work is --give them easy-to-read content in the limited time they have. A savvy writer like you takes the extra steps to make their writing clear and easy to understand. It will be appreciated.

I scrolled down and found a scene that I won't describe here because you would accuse me of complaining in the open forum.

I don't think I'll be reading this story from the beginning.

I don’t think you are getting the point which I am telling you. Please understand the current rating has been done automatically. The authors has time for a month to convert the rating within a time frame. If still they don’t you can pm any ffE, we will change it. Again, please don’t discuss or drag any author or author’s work here. You can PM your grievances in the pm ONLY unless it is general issue that doesn’t involve any member or her work.

Hi vijay,

You can check the terminologies here…

https://www.indiaforums.com/helpcenter/questions/45

I hope this helps.

We use different terminologies on india forums… but the link that I have provided is the actual terminologies used and accepted worldwide…

Fan fiction falls under genre.
