unless the event is being thrown in a dive, they would have had to confirm the number of guests in advance. So if someone had accepted and then doesn't show up because they just didn't feel like it, that's not very nice. Also its about the couple. Its their special day and genuine friends should be trying to make it special for them, not be thinking of their hair etc... But perhaps that's just how I think.😊

another very tacky thing to do is to show up without presents. If one has to cancel at the last moment for genuine reasons, at least send the couple a present. Being classy never hurt no one. All the chillad change one saves by trying to be too clever is just that- chillad.

I mean you’re not thinking wrong and that’s why I’d rather catch a real illness as opposed to lying. Precisely the reason why I’m complaining because I know I have to go and regret not coming up with an excuse earlier. I’m also not close to the couple, mainly invited due to parents knowing each other. A bad hair day is certainly no excuse but it’s enough reason to ruin our mood.

I agree. One should never go to these events empty handed.
