This was the same case with Dhoni after he lost tests in 2011. Selectors wanted him fired. But srinivasan had ultimate trust in Dhoni because he won us the wc 2011. Instead he fired the selector but kept dhoni. He replied with 2013 CT.

Tests me Rohit got because of something called T.I.N.A. Factor. 🤪Better Rohit than KLown. Ideally should have been Rahane but BCCI had other ideas.
