Chapter 12: Expanding the Chakkar

Sid looked at the all-ready filled trucks. They were about to leave, still there was no sign of Bala or Faizi. He had to take decision now, to stay and be part of plan or leave the villa. Without thinking much about consequences, he jumped onto truck along with other goons. Praying to God that this should work out good or else Karan Sir would kill him! Worst Sanju would break up with him! In both cases he was dead man!

Bala was frantically searching for Faizi, hiding from goons and other people working there.

“Faizi Sirjee dikh jao! Itna maan lagake Bala ne kabhi girlfriend bhi nei dhundi hai.”, Finally he saw Faizi talking to one of the goons. He ran towards Faizi and cleared his throat.

“Bhai… ho gaya sab kaam? Mera to sab loading ka kam ho gaya”

Faizi looks at Bala suspiciously, not finding Sid by his side.

“Haan sab ho gaya. Bus inko thanks bolne ruka tha. Hume kaam diya , accha paisa diya”

They bid their goodbye with each other. As soon as the goon left Faizi looked at Bala sternly.

“Bala, mujhe aise kyu lag raha hai ke kuch bada mamala hogaya hai?”

Bala explained Faizi everything. Faizi was tired of cadets taking their own action without asking him. But he knew all those action didt urned out to be benefiting.

“Bala abhi waqt nei hai aur ye time bhi sahi nei hai. But yeh sab mamala nipatane ke baad bas Karan hi nei mein bhi tum logonki class lene wala hoo. Tum log mera BP ek din badha ke rahoge, hasta khelna Faizi pasand nei hai kya tum logonko?”

Without even listening to what Bala was saying they moved out towards storage entrance where Karan and Unit was hiding. As they move towards the area, he called Karan and explained him everything.

Karan closed his eyes and took a long breath.

“Tu ek kaam kar Bala ko bol baki cadets ke paas jae and stay put. Tu yaha aaja phir dekhte hai kya karna hai”

“haan. Tum Batra sir se baat karlo me ata hoo”

Acknowledging he cut the phone.

“Bala suno. Abhi tum sidha jaoge Koel ke room pe waha tum sab lok ruke rehna. Me and baki sab log will go after truck. Control room se touch me rehna aur haa wo ladki… kya naam hai uska.. haan Laxmi usse uske gaav jane ka rasta , waha kitne log hai ye sari jankari nikalke lo”

“Yes Faizi Sirjee aap chinta mat karo hum sab pata karwa denge. Aap bus wo Sid bhaijee….”

Faizi can sense the all-bubbly-all-the-time Bala shiver while talking about Sid. He could feel the bond he shares with Karan in Bala’s eyes for Sid.

He put his one hand on his shoulder, “ Bala, hum wada karte hai. Hum Sid ko kuch hone nei denge. Aur tum bhul rahe ho hamare sath kaun hai. Sanju! Tumhe kya lagta hai Special Agent Sanjana Dubey apne Chirkut ko kuch hone degi?”

Bala smiled ,“Sahi bol rahe ho aao”

“Bala tum bus Monami ko sambhalo okay, now go!”

Koel’s room :

Koel, Sumanjee, Chitra, Premjee and Monu were in room. All tensed up as they have not heard anything from control room or from Jhingoor boys.

“Sumanjee ko pata nahi kyu kuch ajeeb lag raha hai. Dekho naa ab tak kisise kuch pata nei chal raha kya ho raha hai”

Monu was about to say something when they heard knock on the door. She looked at her phone which blinked “Dr. Madam Darwaja kholo. Mein Bala”.

With sigh of relief, she turned to rest. “Bala ka sms hai.Wo and Sid aa gaye hai”.

The sign of relief disappeared at once as she saw only Bala outside not Sid. With sulked face Bala came inside and sat on Sofa.

“Bala Sid kaha hai?” Monu asked instantly.

“Wo Sid Bhaijee … wo.. actually.. nahi aye”

Chitra, who was till now sitting quietly by table sat up and punched Bala on shoulder.

“Bala ke bacche ye #stemmer band kar! Sidhe sidhe bata Sid kaha hai?”

Bala took a long breath and narrated them everything that happened.

There was total silence after Bala ended his tale. Monu tried to wrap her head around things,

“To matlab abhi Sid kaha hai kaisa hai…”

“Kisiko nahi maloom”, Bala completed the line.

“Sid! BROOOOOOOOOOOO! Why! Isse kyu mushkil me padne ki adat hai!”

“Dr. Madam aap tension na lo. Sid Bhaijee ke paas phone hai,wo hume ya Karan Sirjee ko contact karenge. And Sanju madam, Faizi sir and Karan sir hai na wo unko kuch nei hone denge.”

Monu and everybody knew what he was telling was true. Numerous times trainers had risked their life to save cadets. And for Sid they will do anything. But she was worried not only for her best friend but for her on paper boyfriend and her real life ex-boyfriend. The plan has gone haywire, and they have very little resource and time to fixit!

Commando’s :

Once Karan heard everything that Faizi said he turned to Sanju and rest of the commandos.

“Ek problem hai. Unka plan change ho chuka hai pehle se. And it’s moving forward faster than we imagine. Abhi unke truck load hoke nikal bhi chuke hai. And within 2 hours they reach gaav wo wahi se alag alag state me dispatch honge. Wo kaha jaynge , kaha se jaenge kisiko nei pata. Hamare pas bus yaha se leke wo gaav jane tak ka window hai to grab them!”

“Par Sirjee”, Sanju thought and then said “ Wo gaav jane ke liye yaha se kaunsa rasta wo lenge? Kya tino truck ek hi raste se jaenge?”

“Sanju uske liye hume rukna hoga. But don’t’ worry we have inside man”

“But Sirjee Jhingoor gang to nikal chuke waha se Faizi Sirjee ka call aya tha na?”

Karan was about to say something when Faizi joined them.

“Faizi Sirjee, aap sab log nikal chuke hai na waha se to truck ki location Humein kaun dega”

Before Faizi can say anything Karan called ,”Ustadjee, ek phone track karwana hai. To know the location of truck. Cadet Siddharth Ganju ka”

The moment Sanju heard this she knew, the plan has flopped at many levels.

“Chirkut tu to gayo”, saying this Sanju pulled out her gun out.

Koel’s room :

While gang was trying to figure it out how they can help Sid, Laxmi was coming to her senses. Looking her self tied to chair with all the strangers amongst her she panicked and tried to scream but could not due to the tape on her mouth. Then she saw Monu, and with pleading eyes she looked at her.

Monu approached her with caution and sat beside her.

“I am soooo sorry Laxmi! I know tumne kuch galat nei kiya hai and you do not deserve this, but it had to be this way. Hum koi bure log nei hai and we are not here to harm you. Wait!”

She got up and grabbed her ID card from SAF. Showed it to Laxmi and explained her who they are and why they are here.

“Laxmi I know tum ek acchi ladki ho and ye drug mafia se tumhara kuch lena dena nei hai. But tumhare bhai ka hai. I know how much you love him but uske liye acha yahi hai ke wo surrender kare. Kyunki puri commando team unke piche hai and agar tumhe hamare help nei ki Laxmi to jab wo sab log pakade jaenge to tumhare bhai ke sath kya hoga bata nei sakte!”

Laxmi’s eyes started watering.

“Dekho Laxmi agar tum hamare madat karte ho unko raste me pakadne me then we can help your brother. We can save him! Lekin agar aise nei hua to anjam bohot bura hoga. Humein aisa karna hi padega is desh ke liye and is desh se drug mafia ko jad se utha ne ke liye”

Laxmi stopped struggling in her chair. Sensing that she has calmed down Sumanjee approached her.

“Dekho Laxmi tum kisi bhale khandaan se lagti ho, and janati ho ye sab ho raha hai wo galat ho raha hai. Hamari madat karo ye rokane me,kuch accha karne ke liye desh ke liye. Aur baat bus tumhre bhai ki nei hai unke sath hamare Sanjana madam ke maang ka hone wala sindoor bhi hai.”

Everybody rolled their eyes at Sumanjee’s melodrama.

Koel approached Laxmi and slowly pulled the tape, and said while pulling “ Dekho Laxmi, yaha hum sab log apne aur apne dostonki jaan ki baaji laga rahe hai taki desh surakshit rahe. Ye drug circle me koi na phase. Please hamare madat kardo to stop all this.”

Once Laxmi was free from tape she started crying. Monu hugged her and consoled her.

“Madam jee mujhe pata tha pehle se hi ke ye din ayegi jab mera bhai koi badi mushkil me phasega. Mene kitna roka usse suna nei. Ab agar thoda bhi chance hai usko bachane ka to me apki madat karne ke liye tayyar hoon.Aap bus batao kya karna hai”

Smiling, Monu thanked her and asked her regarding her gaav. The location , overall population , the ways to reach.

Monu stopped for a while.

“Matlab waha pohochne ke 2 raste hai, ek main road se aur ek jungle ke raste.”

Chitra chimed in “Mujhe lagta hai wo jungle ke raste jaenge, main road pe kisine pakad liya to?”

Laxmi : Par wo rasta bohot hi jada sunsaan hai, waha pe bohot lutere bhi hote hai. Already ye gairkanuni kaam hai wo waha se kyu jaenge?

Bala : Nahi wo waha se nei main road se hi jaenge. Agar wo itne bade mastermind hai to phir unho ne gaavwalo ke sath setting ki hogi. Koi unhe rokega nei koi checking nei koi sawal nei.

Manu : Wahi setting wo jungle ke luteronse bhi to kar saktehai na? Paise khilake

They though for a while, “Ab kya kare? Sumnjee ko lagta hai shayad wo dono raste se bhi jae?”

Koel looked up her “Yes!!! Ye bhi ho sakta hai. Kash hum Sid se kuch contact kar sake wo hume thik se bata sakta hai”

Monu stood up, “Ab Sid se to baat nei ho payegi hume yeh baat Karan ko batani hogi”

Commando’s :

Karan and team were about to get divided up into jeeps to hit the road when Karan’s phone rang. He was the number and a frown appeared on his face. He picked up the phone with blank face, trying to control his anger and just uttered “Cadet Siddharth Ganju”.

Sid on the other side of the phone could feel the anger in his calm voice. Even on phone Karan had this aura of scarring Sid out of his mind.

“Karan sir please aap please sun lijiye mujhe kya kehna hai…before aap”

“Nei me kuch nei bolunga I know this is not time. Aur tumhare sath jo karna hai usko shuruwat mujhse nei kisi aur se hogi” And he looked at Sanju.

“Shit! I know I know. But suniye I am in one of the truck. Wo truck me jo baki log the they are discussing on something to mene halke se call kar liye aapko. But I can’t see any other trucks”

“tumhare aju baju aur kya hai?”

“Yah….hh…………….tr……kuc……….”

“Siddharth tumhari awaz cut ho rei hai”

“Sir… mein……………………….BEEP BEEP BEEP”

Karan banged his phone in his other hand.

“Range issue! Tabhi to usko phone track nei ho raha tha. That’s it we are moving quickly hume jo Ustad jee ne co-ordinates bheje hai uski tarf we would move. Agar cadets Laxmi se kuch aur info nikal paye then they would inform control room. Let’s go”

And they all started towards the road which connected the gaav via main road, unaware about the fact that there is another route as well via Jungle.

Koel’s room :

Monu contacted the control room informing them about the 2 different routes and possibility of the truck splitting up. Ustad ji acknowledged and assured them that he will contact Karan and let him know. They also let her know that Sid has called and he is in one of the truck but not sure which route.

Bala was looking at everyone at room. ,”hume yaha nei hona chahie.”

“What?”, Koel asked.

“Hume yaha nei hona chahie ye galat hai. Waha un logonko hamare jarrorat hai. Unko 2 raste pata hai, ek main road ek jungle. Main road ka to wo pata laga lenge lekin jungle wala rasta? Wo kaise dhundenge? Raat bhiho chuki hai. Aur..agar… Sid bhai jee usi wale truck me honge to?”

“Sumanjee ko bhi aise hi lag raha. Hum 6 log yaha ruke hai,agar hum bhi chale jae to 6 log aur, Kuch na kuch to kar hi denge. Yaha baithke kya kar rahe hai hum!”

“#correct! Sid ko aise akele chodke hum kaise yaha.”

“Par Sanju ne to..” Started Monu. To which Koel interrupted,“ Maloom hai Monami but ab baat wo nei rahi. Change ho chuki hai. All the plans has gone for a toss. Hume quick decisions lene honge to move and help!”

Monu knew this was true , they can’t just sit here and wait. She stood up and went to Laxmi.

“Laxmi kya tum hume leke jaogi wo jungle wale raste se? tumhe pata hai wo kaha hai?”

“Haan mujhe pata hai, kum samay lagta hai to mein hamesha usi raste se jaati hoo”

Everybody stood up , with fire in their eyes. They knew they are taking huge risk but it had to be done.

Bala cleared his throat ,” Yeh pakka raha hum log Jungle wale raste se jaenge. Aur ye baat hum kisiko nei batayenge , Karan Sirjee ke team ko to bilkul nei. Warna wo distract ho jaenge. Ab either mission pe marenge ya mission khatam karke Karan sir ke hatho”

They gathered the small gun stash that was left behind by Sanju, hoping that would suffice.

Just hoping Karan would understand, Monu and gang left the hotel with Laxmi towards parking. Luckily while coming from control room team has brough their own jeeps hence the car via, they all came to resort were still there.

All sat in car praying to God no other speed brakes and surprises in their plan.

Well, one can only hope!

Chapter 13: Connecting The Chakkar

Via Main Road:

Karan and team were halfway near the village when they spot 1 truck.

“Faizi Sirjee, aage dekhiye 1 truck kya wo wahi hai? “,Sanju asked on comms.

Faizi looked at the marking on the side of the truck.

“Haan ye wahi hai. Sidharth ne bola tha 3 truck alag alag time se niklenge. Shayad ye pehla hoga and dusara abhi piche hoga”

Karan looked at the truck. It was completely closed; it was impossible to see how many people were inside. And they could not connect with Sid again to know more details.

“Ek kaam karte hai pehle is truck ko pakad lete hai then we will see the second”.

With their 2 jeeps they flanked the truck from left and right with Sanju and Karan leading in each. And the third one was right behind the truck with Faizi. The truck driver panicked as he was not expecting three-pronged attack. He tried to hit the jeep to his right but then the jeep driver would slow down the speed so that the truck would not hit him. At the same time the driver on left jeep would advance.

While Sanju’s and Karan’s jeep were distracting the truck driver, Faizi in the jeep in the back aimed for the rope which were tied to the jeep door. And fired. Other commandos in the jeep followed him aiming the ropes to fall and the green clothe which was covering back of truck to open. They knew as soon as the cover opens the goons inside would start shooting and hence,they were prepared. But they also had to be sure Sid should not get injured.

As soon as the cover dopped the goons inside started firing,commandos responded with equal but better aimed firepower. With guns blazing driver got distracted and hit the truck on the sidewalk. As the truck came to standstill all commandos surrounded the truck, the goons knew they had zero option of winning and they surrendered pretty quickly.

Sanju ran towards truck and searched entire truck. Disappointed,she turned towards Faizi and Karan nodding.

“Siddharth na hai andar”.

As the other commandos were rounding up the goons, Karan,Faizi and Sanju were planning their next move.

“Karan Sirjee ek truck to pakado gayo. Ab dusre ka wait kareya wapas piche chale?’

“Karan hume lagta hai ab wo dusra truck shayad se jungle ke raste se jaye. Jo Laxmi ne bola tha. Kyunki nahi to ab tak use bhi aa jana chahie the is raste pe”

Karan looked back, he could see few headlights but they were of cars not of truck. If they stay here waiting and if the truck goes from Jungle route, they will miss it.

“I think dusra truck alag raste se jane ke chances jada hai,par ho bhi sakata hai isi raste se jae. Ek kaam kar Faizi tu kuch commando’s ko bolke ye lafango ko and truck to paas wale police station leke jane bol. Inform Batra sir to send more Men. Tab tak bache hue manpower ke sath tu yahi ruk agar yaha se truck aa jae to. Keep me posted, okay?”

“Haan Karan tum aur Sanju with team nikalo jaldi. Just hope is wale truck me Siddharth ho!”

Placing one hand on Sanju’s shoulder Faizi gave Sanju assuring smile.

Karan was half way into the jeep ,”Sanju chalo we need to leave”.

Giving Faizi thank you smile Sanju sat beside Karan along with few other teammates.

“Sirjee bus ye wale truck me Chirkut mil jae to jaan me jaanaa jaye. Phir uski jaan mein le lungi”

Karan smiled at Sanju,” Kya Sanju tu bhi. Bechare ko kuch to points do, usne apni life risk me daali mission ke liye”

“Bechara? Kahe ka behcara. Usne socha uski action se kya hoga? Me to thik usko dhund rei hoo, commando hoo me apne aap ko sambhal sakati hoo. Par Monami? O to yaha bhi nei, room me kitna akela mehsoos kar rei hogi.Bechari to wo hai. Me ek bari chod bhi du usse par Monami na chodegi!”

Monami….. Karan felt a familiar pain in his heart. Right now, he would do anything to see her, to touch her, hug her. The moment he used to hug her all his worriers, tensions used to disappear. He needed her the most now. All he could think was the moment right before leaving for mission, the hug he shared with her. He just needed to see her right now. He wished he hasn’t broken up with her, broken her trust, broken her heart! If he asks her now, will she accept him? Thinking about taking that chance he turned towards unknown road.

In Jungle:

Monu was frantically searching for any sign of truck. Praying to God that Sid is alright.

“Laxmi, yaha se aur kaha?” Monu asked, stirring the wheels. She was driving the car and there was one more car behind them.

“Haan Madam yaha se sidha jao aur yehi car laga do. Aage ka rasta chalake jana padega. Yeh short cut hai hum pohoch jaenge unse pehle”

Reluctantly Monu parked the car. The second car also stopped. She looked at the road , it was dark very dark and with trees and creepers. Wishing that trusting Laxmi is worth taking risk they followed her.

After walking for 15 min they saw the service road. Laxmi exclaimed, “Wo..Wo raha rasta. Truck ho na ho yaha se hi jaega”

Koel looked at watch, “Agar jo time hume bola wo sahi hai to truck kabhi bhi aa sakta hai”

Monu looked at Laxmi ,” Laxmi mujhe pata nei kaise me tumhe thanks bolu! I would try my best ke tumhare bhai ko kum saja ho. Ab yaha se aage hum sambhal lenge. But you need to leave!”

“Kyu? Madam me bhi aapki madat karungi!”

“Laxmi tumhara yaha se jana hi sahi hai. Official nei but we are trained cadets, tum ek civilian ho and we are getting trained to protect you!”

Premjee came forward,” Sahi keh rahi hai Monami! Hamara farz hai tumhe surakshit rakhe. Ek kaam karta hoo me Laxmi ko wapas resort chodke ata hoo!”

“Sahi hai Premjee!” , Premjee took Laxmi along with him.

Koel smiled, “ Kuch mahine pehle hum Civilians the. Depending upon authorities to help us, save us! Aur aaj dekho we are saving some one! Karan sir would be so proud of us, daro mat Bala murder nei hoga apna unke hatho”

Karan… Monu though about him. Thought about last few months. How they have spent every day apart, not talking to each other. Rather fighting with each other. She remembered hugging him right before leaving for the mission. How good and perfect it felt. She just wished Karan was here, she would hug him tight right away. Not bothering to think about the past, not thinking about anybody else. She felt a tug in her heart. With longing to see Sid and Karan Monu started the hike along with team.

As they walked few minutes, they could see a light coming from far end of road.

“Monami Sumanjee ko lagta hai wo wahi truck hai. Kyunki baaki kuch gadiya to dikh nei raha hai yaha. But ab kare kya?”

Bala had his hands in pocket, thinking what to so when he found one screw in his pocket. Then he realized while loading the truck he hadl oosen some screws and took it with him as a weapon to use. He had an idea.

“Ruko me ye jo screws hai raste pe daal deta hoo. Ekhad chakka to flat ho hi ajega. Jab usse thik karne wo utarenge tab hum unpe halla bol denge”

Chitra agreed, “ Good Bala yeh sahi lag raha hai. But hume nei pata wo kitna log hai aur kitne armed hai. Karan sir ne kaha tha bravery aur bawkufi me jada farak nei hota. Hume plan banana hoga how to attack”

“Chitra sahi keh rei hai. We must split and attack!”, Koel responded.

Monu thought for a min, “Ok! Bala and Chitra screws scatte rkarne ka and to to check kitne gunde hai and kya sab road pe hai ye janane ka kaam tum donoka hai, Once you signal us Me aage jake pehle Sid ko dhundungi. Sumanjee and Koel tum dono ka kaam hai to make sure none of goons see us. Agar kisikobhi me, Bala ya Chitra dikhe either goliya maro ya patthar distract them and run towards jungle.”

Everybody nodded. They know this is huge risk, and chances of them getting out this alive were very slim. But they had to do this! For these situations they have been training and it’s Sid who’s life was on line.

Bala and Chitra went ahead and scattered the screw on road. Then they took shelter behind one of boulder by road side.

As the truck drove over screw, the back tyres got hit. And the truck screeched to halt. 2 goons dropped down to see what happened, cursing they called 2 more goons. They had extra tyres with them but just they needed to change it. The green cloth which was covering the truck was now partially open. Bala could count total 5 goons but could not see Sid. Bala gestured 5with his hand to Moni, Koel and Sumanjee. Monu mouthed “Sid” to which Bala nodded negatively. Disappointed Monami and girls started coming towards road, because whether Sid was present or not, they had to stop the bus.

Sumanjee aimed a rock towards the opposite end of road , it hit the tree bark and made sound.

“oyeeeee kaun hai wala”, asked one of goon.

“Arey yeh itne sumsan raste pe kaun hoga , koi nei. Hum hi kyu hai pata nei. Uper se ye chakka flat hua hai. Ispe dhyan de!” scolded the other.

As they were busy in changing the tyres, again Sumanjee threw one rock at other end.

“Ee ja na bhai dekh ke aa na. Pichli baar ke plan me jo gadbad hui waise phir hui to boss jinda nei chodenge. Isko sath leke ja”

2 of the goons went to other side of road while 2 were fixing the wheel. One was keeping eye on the truck. Cadets were about to attack when they saw someone jumping from Cargo space. He was hiding and snicking off away from Truck and was near driver seat. The goon who was keeping eye on truck also noticed and shouted “eeee kaun hai waha” and ran towards that person.

They were fighting with each other when in swift motion Monu saw the face.

“SIDDDDD”, she cried and ran towards him.

Sid was struggling to get the goon off him when someone struck something on goon’s head and he fall down. Shocked Sid looked up and saw Monu hitting back of the gun on the goon’s head.

“Monuuuuu…. BRO! Tu yaha”, Sid cried and jumped to hug her. After a quick hug Monu hit him on shoulder.

“Ouucchhhhhhhhh.. what Bro!”

“What Bro kya What Bro! Sid.. you mad or what? Kya kar raha tha tu?”

Before Sid could respond the other two goons who went towards the other side of road jogged towards them.

“Eeeeee tu kaun hai? Aur ye ladki ye chal kya raha hai”

Before they could do anything, Sid grabbed one crowbar from truck’s driver seat and hit one of the goon. Monu was fighting with the other one when Bala came charging.

With all this noise the remaining 2 goons also joined them in fight. Sid took the crowbar and was hitting one goon. Sumanjee and Chitra grabbed few bigger rocks and were pelting the goons. Monu found one belt lying-in the truck and was swooshing the other goon. Koel grabbed the knife from one of the goon after tackling him to ground.

One goon pulled the gun from his pocket and was about to fire when Koel ran and cut his hand , grabbed his gun as well.

Finally, under knife, crowbar and belt the goons fall. They didn’t even had chance to get their guns from backside of their truck.

Instantly cadets grabbed the ropes and tied the goons together inside the truck.

When all the goons were securely tied up all the cadets sat down on the road. Taking each other’s support.

“Hateee Thak gaya ek fight me hi! Ye trainers and commandos kaise itne fight kar sakte hai?” Bala said while massaging his hand.

“#Sore shoulders”

Monu was looking at everyone’s injury, ”Koi nei guys ! yeh wounds ki adat dalni hogi ab hume, once back to academy me sab ko medicines de dungi and patti kar dungi!”

Koel took a deep breath, as she inhaled her stomach was paining. “But guys! Look around! We did it! We managed it without getting killed!!!!”

“Sumanjee na kehta thi, trainer’s ki training and Karan Sirjee ka bharosa jaya nahi jane denge”

Smiling to each other they have each other high-five. Realizing late that they have sore shoulders.

“ooucch”

“hayeeee”

“uffff”

“BROOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

All the noise preceded.

They were just settling down when they heard sound of a car. It was unusual for any car to travel in this direction. Reluctantly they got up and hide behind the truck. Another fight was out of question, they just wishing this was some random traveler who would go away. But the noise stopped, the car stopped right there. And they can hear some people getting out of it.

“Sirjee, ye to waise wala hai truck hai jaise Faizi Sirjee ne pehechana tha. Yaha raste ke bich kyu ruka hai?”, they can hear curious voice of Sanju.

Before anyone can say anything or react Sid boulted towards Sanju.

“Sanju….”

A smile of relief spread across Sanju’s face which was soon overtaken by anger. Sid, who has happily running towards Sanju slowed down.

“Sanju…ruko…suno…wo mein…………….”

Before Sanju could Punch him, rest of the cadets came out of hiding.

As soon as Monu saw Karan, a calmness spread over her face. Karan could sense his restless heartbeat relaxing. He knew just needed to see her, and she knew she just needed to see him. If this wasn’t the mission or people around them Monu could have just run over in his arms, not caring about the fight, not caring about whether he wants her back in his life. He could see in her eyes, the longing the similar calmness he was feeling. They didn’t said anything but thousand of emotions passed between two.

“Tum log yaha kya kar raho, tum logonko wo hotel me hona chahie tha na? Aur tu Chirkut tu katai bhayankar kand kar ke aya hai” Sanju’s voice brought them to the reality.

Karan regained his composure and went back to his “Special Agent” Role.

“Yaha ho kya raha hai? yeh bhag jata hai gundo ke sath bina bataye.Tum log yaha jungle me truck ke sath. Can any one explain?”

“Wo Karan Sirjee hua yun ke”, And Bala explained them everything from start. “ Sirjee hume maaf kar dijiye , humne bohot badi risk li aur bataya bhi nei. Aur hum iske liye koi safai bhi nei de rahe, bus hum sablog nahi reh paye waha resort me jante hue bhi ke aap log, Sid Bhaijee in sabk ijaan khatare me hai. Hume maaf kar dijiye please”

“Aur Sanju dekho na humne ye ek truck ko pakad bhi liya with 5 goons tied inside. With not even a single shot fired.” , Sid carefully tried to justify.

Karan saw at the cadets. His namune’s. Who could not even climb the rope, could not even punch, are now facing the goons. Winning against them. Taking care of their teammates. And helping their trainers. Karan smiled his crocked smirk.

“Mujhe pata hai tum logonko rokna kisike bus ke baat nei. Mere bhi nei. Anyways, back to mission! Ek truck ko humne pakad liya jisko Faizi other commandos ke hawale kar raha hai. Ek truck yaha hai. Ab bus bacha ek aur truck. Jo mere hisaab se main road se jaega”.

He thought for a while, “ Ustad jee, aap aur kuch commando’s ko lekar ye truck ko sambhale aur uski police station leke jae jaha pehla truck hai.”

“Jee Sir jee, but aap ke sath phir?”

Karan looked at the cadets. Soaked in sweat and mud. Still massaging their sore shoulders. But a fire in their eyes.

“Mere sath hai na, ye commandos.” He gestured towards them. He ordered them to load up in jeeps, “Chalo namuno, jeep me baitho. Ek aur truck ka kaam khatam karana hai aur uske sath GhanChakkr ka bhi kaam khatam”

Sid raised one eyebrow, “You mean Mr. Ghanshankar right?”

All cadets laughed and went on the sit in the jeep. Karan called Faizi and explain him what was happening and what is their next plan. Asked him to travel back to main road with some backup.

It now or never situation for them. They had to catch the third truck and end the mission successfully. Karan looked at the Jeep he was sitting and behind him. He had his buddies and fellow trainers with him, Faizi and Sanju. He had his cadets with him on whom he can trust his life! And he has Monami with him, his Raani Sahiba. At that moment he knew, he understood, what she was to him. It wasn’t just love and admiration, it was more than that. And he knew he would always want her beside him no matter what!

Chapter 14: Finding Mr.GhanChakkar

They were now approaching the main road and parked the jeep behind the trees waiting for the third and final truck. And at that moment they heard noises. It was of a jeep coming their way behind which was the third truck. And after the truck there was one white car.

“Yeh truck ke sath aur 2 gadiya kyu hai?”, Karan asked.

“Karan sir jaroor us ek gadi me Ghanshankar hoga”, Sid said,“Wo mene suna tha unko bolte hue ke jab yaha ka kaam khatam ho jaega, matlab villa ka he will leave along with last truck”

Karan clenched his jaw. This was the moment of truth; he must end this cycle now! He aimed his gun at the truck’s tyres, Sanju repeated after him. With swift crack 1 one of the front wheels was flat. As the truck suddenly stopped, the car behind the truck banged on the truck.

The goons from both Jeep and truck came out with their guns. They knew something was wrong. Before they respond back trainers and Cadets launched a full fire attack on them. Cadets had very limited fire power, just guns snatched from other 2 trucks, whereas the goons had marginally more. Karan knew at one point they are going to get out numbered.

“Bala , Sid, Monami mere sath to the left of Jeep”, he cried them to hide behind him beside his jeep.

“Koel, Chitra, Sumanjee Sanju ke sath behind the jeep” He had made sure none of the cadets gets into line of fire.

He had counted 15 goons along with Ghanshankar . They have taken down 3 of them but 12 remains. He had not intended to have cadets so deep into the mission, now it’s not only capturing Ghanshankar but also making sure cadets are safe, was his responsibility.

“Sanju”, he called on comms, while firing the shots “We must fall back. Log jyada hai and hamare pass firepower kum. Cadets ko yaha se surkshit nikalna hoga then we will have to follow them again”.

Monu was listening to what Karan was saying. Practically this was valid decision, Karan have to protect the cadets too but he also need to follow the mission. And their mission as to capture Ghanshankar and she wasn’t going to let anyone come in between that.

“Nahi Karan”, she speaks up, “Bus hamare wajah se tum ye mission abort nei karoge.”

“But Monami tum samjh nei rei ho.. “

“Tum samajh nei rahe ho. Yeh mission yaha khade kisi bhi insan ke jaan se jada important hai! Tum hamare chinta mat karo go ahead with your plan. Jo bhi hoga hum sath me dekh lenge. Right?”

She lightly touched his hand giving him assurance. Karan was shocked looking at the conviction in her eyes. She wasn’t scared, she wasn’t apprehensive. Karan put one of his hands on her hand and nodded.

“Yes sir”, echoed Bala and Sid “ Desh ke khatir desh ke naam”

Karan smiled and nodded to his cadets.

He looked at the Jeep which was in front of Sanju.

“Sanju ask cadets to give you cover, and aage jake jeep shuru karo aur headlight on karo upper pe. “

“Copy that Sirjee”

Sanju sneaked towards the jeep while other gave cover to her. she quickly started the jeep and headlight blinding the goons. Taking advantage of this rest of the cadets and Karan fired the guns. They managed to take 4 goons out of the picture. Knowing that protecting the boss was more important, rest of the goons surrounded the last white car in which Ghanshankar was sitting.

“Wo log yaha se bhagne ki koshish kar rahe hai” Karan understood their move. As some of the goons kept firing at them where others were helping the boss to drive away.

“Hume kuch bhi ho is gaadi ko yaha se nikalne se rokna hai”

But by now Koel , Sid and Sumanjee were out of firepower. It was only Bala, Chitra, Monami, Karan and Sanju who had guns. Cadets could not aim properly to goons in the darkness. The car was slowly moving away, Karan could see Ghanshankar slipping away again from his fingers. He wanted to go and grab him out of the car but they were outnumbered and outgunned. Something must be done but what? He could do nothing but watch the car sliding away. And then……

The car and the goons surrounding the car were retreating and he heard more gun fire on them. He looked to his right to see the source of bullets and a proud grin appeared on his face.

“Saand” Karan murmured watching Faizi with whole gang of commandos approaching them.

“Bacha liyo aaj Faizi Sirjee ne”, Sanju said.

Pumped up by arrival of Faizi and commandoes, Karan and gang resumed their fight with grit. They managed to injure few more goons. Now knowing full well that they are not going to win rest of the goons surrendered. Karan ran towards the car and dragged Ghanshankar out of the car.

“Finally tu mere hath lag hi gaya. Chuhe ki tarah jo bill me ghus kar baithe tha na tujhe usi bill se khaded ke bahar nikala hai!”

Ghanshankar tried to break free but Karan grabbed him more tightly. All cadets and trainers arrived at the scene.

“Toh..toh matlab aap..aap police wale ho?” Said a scared voice to Faizi. Faizi turned around to see Laxmi’s brother, one of the goons who have helped them get the work inside.

Faizi smirked,” Commando hai hum! Samjhe!”

Confused that guy looks at Monu “Aur ye.. ye bhi?”

Faizi looks at Monu smiling, “ Aise hi samajh lo”

“To ye apki girlfriend nei hai????”

Before Faizi could say anything Karan grabs him by collar “Yeh iski kya kisi aur ki bhi girlfriend nei hai samajha”

Monu looks at Karan with her eyes wide open and then looks at Faizi. Faizi whispers in her ear “ Possessive Shergil!”

Monu rolls her eyes and stops Karan, “ Karan isse chod do. Laxmise humne wada kiya hai ke uske bhai wo kum se kum saza dilwane ki koshish karenge and usko harm nei karenge”

Reluctantly Karan let him go.

Unaware to all of them Ghanshankar was still trying to figure out the way to stay out of jail. He saw Bala holding the gun very loosely in his hand, with swift move he grabs the gun out of his hand. Monu was standing close to car and to get to car he had to shoot her. He aims at Monu where as everyone else aims at him.

“eeeyeeeeeee… ruk. Goli mat chalana tu goli chalege to terepe 50 aur goli chalaenge. Tu bach ke nei ja sakta. Game over Ghanshankar!” Karan shouted.

Ghanshakar looks around, he was alone with one gun where as 2dozed guns were pointing at him He knew he could not get away from here alive, but he could do all the damage possible while at it. He still aimed at Monu and fired the gun.

Multiple things happed at once….

Sid , Bala and cadets ran towards Monu….

All trainers opened the fire on Ghanshankar….

Monu closed her eyes tightly shouting Karan’s name…………

And then she could hear multiple gun rounds. But none seems to be touching her.

She opened her eyes to see Karan standing in front of her. The same way he was standing few months back, at hospital wing, shielding her, protecting her!

But this time he was hit by bullets in shoulder and in stomach. Karan stumbles back due to bullet force and falls. Hitting he head on the rock, injuring his head.

“Karannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn……………..”

Screamed Monu and drops beside Karan.

Karan could not feel or hear anything else. He could just sense Monu, her hand grabbing him! Shaking him to stay awake. Her sobs, her tears on his face. Her increasing heartbeat.

Ambulance came, they lifted Karan. Monu was beside him continuously crying, holding his hand.

Karan was dying again, again in Monu’s arms. Looking into her eyes, feeling her presence.

At that moment he knew if he survives this, she is not going to let Monu away from him for one second. If he has only limited days or he is to die tomorrow, he still wants to spent his last seconds with her. With his ..

“Raaani….. Sahiba……….” Shouted Karan and then darkness.

Chapter 15: Pyaar Ka Chakkar

A bright light…. Few moments…blurry figures….. lots of chatter…… oblivion. ….

He opened his eyes again. A very soft light he could see, he could not keep his eyes open for much longer time. “Damn those medicines” , he thought.

After a while he again blinked open his eyes to see complete darkness but one table lamp on. He was still in hospital room, he didn’t want to be here. He wanted to go home, his academy, to his Rani Sahiba!

Monami… he thought… where are you. He was about to get up when a soft hand holds him there.

“Kya Kar rahe ho Karan, abhi bhi operation hua hai. You have lost a lot of blood you need to rest”

From his eye’s slit he could see Monami. Tasseled hairs on her forehead, she was wearing the same cloths as on mission. She had bandage on her right hand. Absent minded, he held her hand looking at her wounds.

“Chot lagi….. tumhe” , He said while Monu put him back to bed. Dragged the blanket over him.

“Kuch nei hua hai, bus choti chot hai. Accha hua tumhe hosh aa gaya. Ye dawai deni hai”

She turned towards table , grabbed a tablet and glass of water. He looked at the tablet with utter hatred.

“Come on Karan! Banduk ki goli kha sakte ho Medicine wali nei! Come on, take it! Aise baccho jaise mooh mat banao”, Monu said with frown on her forehead.

Karan smiled, not sure after how many days.

“Has kyu rahe ho? joke mara kya mene?” Monu said forcing tablet in his hand.

Karan reluctantly took the tablet and drank the water.

“Wo kya hai na, bohot dino baad tumhara ye strict Dr. Monami Mahajan wala roop dekha na. Kuch yaad aa gaya”

“Kya?”, Monu said placing the glass back on table. She sat down on chair near his bed.

“Wahi, jab pehli baar tumne ye Doctor wala roop liya tha aur mujhe danta tha for not taking medicine”

Monu smiled, remembered how he had hide tablet in his hand. How cute and innocent he was looking. But she was not going to tell him that.

“Haan, buddhu lag rahe the! Ekdum stupid! Hath me dawai leke idhar udhar dekh rahe the”

“Buddhu?”

“Haan to! Kaun aise karta hai? Dawai chupake rakhna. Hamare hospital ke kids ward me bhi aise nei hota hai. Aise jiddi bacho ke liye strict Doctor banana hi padata hai”

Monu said fiddling with her fingers. He observed her closely now, her eye’s looked red. Was she crying? She looked tired, was she worried about me? He thought.

“Tum ro rei thi?” Karan asked, he couldn’t control it any longer.

Monu looked at Karan and turned away quickly.

“Me ek commando hoon, matlab banne wali hoo, aur commandos’ rote nei hai!”

“Ok! To tum yaha raat bhar jaagi rahi mere paas, mera dhyan rakha isi liye ke tum ek commando ho aur ek doctor?”

Monu was dumbstruck, not sure what to answer. But Karan was enjoying this. He knew why she did it, he knew what she was feeling. But she was not going to say, why should she? He had made the blunder; he had pushed her away.

“Nei bus isi liye nei ke me ek commando hoo aur ek doctor”

“To? To kyu?”

“Kyunki me…. Me tumhari…”

“Tum meri kaun????????”

“Mein dost..dost hoo na tumhari”

This is not going to be easy, Karan thought. He had to take step back and he must speak up now.

He pressed himself up and sat by the bed back. He took Monu’s hand in his hand. Holding it tight. She looked up at him.

“Monami, tum ek commando bani , ek good cadet bani, ek acchi doctor aur supportive friend bhi bani. Ab kya tum wo ban sakati ho jo me chahata hoo?”

“Kya?” The word came out more of a whisper, holding her breath Monu asked.

“Meri Raani Sahiba?” Karan asked looking directly in her eyes.

Monu said nothing.

“Dekho Monami, mene tumhe apne se door kiya yeh sochke ki isse tumhari aur meri life behtar banegi. But aise kaise ho sakta hai kyunki tum hi to meri life ho. Tumhare bina mere pass kuch bachata hi nei hai jeene ke liye! Tum jab hasati ho to dil khush ho jata hai, tum jab dukhi hoti ho to mera dil tutata hai, gussa hoti ho to dil karta hai tumhe manau, mujhe gale lagati ho to dhadkane apne aap tez ho jati hai. Mera dil function hi karta hai tumhari wajah se to tumhe me apne aap se kaise door karu? Jab mene tumhe apne se door kiya tab mene tumhe nei apne dil ko apne se door kiya. Aur bina dil ke koi kaise reh sakta hai bolo?”

Still Monu was not able to speak up, but Karan could read her eyes. The tears which were constantly dousing her cheeks.

He let go of his one hand and wiped her tears from her cheek and held her face in one hand. Monu holds his hand there, feeling his touch on her cheek.

“Phir kyu?”, she said in between sobs,” Kyu apne dil ko itna dukhate ho, rulate ho?”

He stretched up and hold her face in his palms.

“Kyunki me buddhu hoo stupid hoo and Khadoos bhi hoo. Mujhse galti ho gayi aur please mujhe mere galti ki itni badi saja mat do! Please meri Raani Sahiba ban jao, wapas se!”

Karan pleaded with her.

Holding his hand in hers Monu hugged him tightly.

“Ouch”, Karan said as Monu’s hand touched his wound.

“Sorry sorry……….” Apologizing Monu tried to draw back. But Karan holds her tight.

“Karan chodo tumhe dard ho raha hoga”

Karan smiled, “ Nei ho raha tha , but ab nei” Saying he hugged her more tightly.

After a while which felt like years they broke apart.

“Waise Karan, tumne bataya nei tumhari Raani Sahiba banke me kya karu?” Monu asked not-so-innocently.

Karan acted as he was deep in thought ,” hmmmmmm well abhi tak job description pura banaya nei hai but tum apne Raani Saahiba duty ki shuruvat mujhe…..” then he suddenly grabbed Monu “ Good morning Kiss karke kar sakti ho”

Monu hit him playfully on shoulder, “Kuch bhi! Ye kya duty hai?”

“Haan hai na… Good morning kiss phir Good night kiss…. Good afternoon kiss… Good evening..”

“bas bas”, Monu said going red in her cheeks “Itne sare good wale kiss. Ab kal bologe Good drill wali kiss, Good mission wali kiss dedo”

“Why not? If you are up for that! Me to kehta hoo Good kyu? Bad drill wali kiss, bad coffee wali kiss bhi chalegi”

“Karan!!!”

“Ruko aur batata hoo…………”

And they continued their discussion on the job description of being Khadoos Shergil’s Raani Sahiba!
