Only they know why. I only know that it's a pattern followed by SP including regional channels. 2months back, I think around the time of Arylie's marriage, we had marriage /engagement functions going on in our 4 regional shows simultaneously and dragged for 2-3 weeks.

So, i think that this is very realistic. As a working woman, managing a family is quite challenging, and a supportive partner makes a lot of difference.

And I understand the outrage at the pregnancy track too, but not everything in life can be planned. There are accidental pregnancies and despite being unplanned couples are happy at the prospect of a little life gracing their family.

Now, as per me, it can go 2 ways from here:

1) this is a trap to expose who's behind all the attacks (needs a lot of explanation in form of flashbacks, but hints of suspicion have been dropped)

2) accidental pregnancy (/miscarriage). The consequences and after effects. Balancing family with job. Because they've driven it hard that Imlie is not leaving her job in any situation.

Is our life situations always progressive? -No

Does that stop us from taking progressive decisions? Again No

Progressive is a thought process that needs to be applied at every situation you're thrown in, your situations can't be progressive.

Now arylie have fallen into this situation of unplanned pregnancy (per prediction #2 above) and we all saw Aryan telling her it's her decision to continue this pregnancy, that i call progressive.

absolutely. and had the story organically reached this stage, i’d actually agree with everything you said. but the trouble is, they cut out all natural development and progression of events and characters in the story. when i asked whether we can call what they’ve been showing us so far as “progress”, i was really just referring to this. otherwise, i do not doubt Aryan’s progressive thought process at all. 🙂

oh that. well yeah writing has always been shoddy, i've seen that before Aryan too.

the difference however is that earlier they followed ishti kutum storyline, so they always knew what next? now they're a bit lost.

I'd agree about loose storytelling

Pehli baat : Blame falls on an actor who left the show , he ruined potential of the show !!

Doosri baat : channel interferes a lot , almost all the shows had shaadi track !! Now all of em r having pregnancy track

Teesri baat : they have made a mess of things , they have written themselves in corner.
Literally showing some nonsense with bits of arylie to manage trp.

almost 4 shows with a pregnancy track? but why?????? is the channel doing some sort of ad drive for diapers?

Progressive or Regressive tbh I don't hold much in that point maybe for my thinking process I would support girls too who would not want to work and have a loving family as a choice. At the end it's about choice for me pregnancy isn't much favorable maybe because for her age.

Also the show doesn't relate to real life, they may put emotional and path breaking hard life for Imlie but real life problems are never shown.

One gets a mother's name when the kid doesn't have a dad... India do have single kids named from her mother example Masaba Gupta. Also village or city doesn't matter you need to get a kid a surname to let her study in school and Imlie was a merit student. But they have shown this girl without surname.

You can't get a seat in an education institution in some random time. Imlie didn't study for a year, I am dropper myself for one year after highschool and I needed to give valid reason with an application for dropping a whole year.

3rd why isn't she out of college yet for less attendance?

4th unplanned pregnancy is shown as happiness in every single show. The focus maybe on the side of a relationship but we sustain in a society where rationality and practicality is there. For us if accepting being a mother at 20 can be a reality then why did not show blood bank raid or destroying others cars as a crime?

Tbh I doubt the writers has researched before writing...just like when a man writes a woman's story sometimes it seems superficial similarly it goes the same way when a rich kid write the story of a poor protagonist. You need lot of research to be practically correct.

Basically we are simple minded people who wants to associate with only the good side, half from reality was ignored by CVs, we are ignoring half only trying to focus which seems perfect to our eyes.

No fl of ITV would think baby as a burden.. it's a fact as motherhood is celebrated in India.

At the end of the day it's the writer who need to work hard right now every thing is going in the stereotypical way. Show a fl frustrated hearing she is pregnant, also geography plays a huge rule too.

This thing shown might be absolutely okay with North India as they cater the audience there. In our place these kind of things aren't there, like there's no dowry, women driving cars, scooties even bikes are common, not wearing saree at all is okay, and I grew up with my own mom addicted to jeans and skirts. So it's hard for people like us to connect also northeast boys are taught to help their mothers and wives. Also most families plan and have babies, it's the husband wife decisions. No one question a couple even if they are childless for years.

Maybe that's why I didn't feel it as progressive coz it's daily life and quite common here. At older times some were orthodox but that was for acceptance of other community people now a days it's not even a big problem.

So I guess we will keep on looking just the positive side to convince ourselves to watch for Arylie

I am genuinely wondering if the show is ending or they are going to wipe the slate clean and start afresh with a new imlie altogether.

if show is ending then that could be the reason of super sonic speed. Start afresh still doesn’t make sense because why start something new when so much is unsaid about this story. Main leads leaving show already made them change the whole premise of show. Also, I am not expert but this show had given worst exit to previous characters.🙁
from past episodes I can tell makers are not dumb and they must be knowing they are straying away from original Imlie plot, what’s making them? 🤔

maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but i’d have actually liked to see arylie planning their pregnancy, when the story would have naturally reached that stage. i feel like planned pregnancies are barely touched upon and rarely shown on itv (especially with young lead couples), unless the main plot of the show itself is about pregnancies/children. even when that’s the case, the lead couple is typically shown to be middle-aged. this could have actually been a golden opportunity to address family planning with young couples. had they gone this way, an infertility/miscarriage track would have worked like a charm to highlight real-life conception issues faced by young couples.
