I agree with you Mithila, I've had aunts who are financially dependent and not very understanding husbands, and I know they have to ask for money and explain the expenditure even for things like pads and undergarments, let alone other personal expenses. It's the primary reason my mother decided she needs to earn her money.

And since DKP loves parallels (they can run this show on parallels for another two years easily!) The parallel here is an episode where baa is shouting at anupama and taunting her saying you've sent expensive rations to your brother's house, when infact she had spent them on repairing something of leela's. That was one of the first episodes I watched, it was gut wrenching and no matter how stupid this property transfer thing is, I'm happy to see a parallel where she doesn't have to ask anybody for money to run a house. Which by the way she was quite competent at. This whole singing without seeing business was clearly introduced to introduce drama and according to me that's out of character because they always showed her as an able and smart home maker.

Also completely agree about Kavya (however momentarily) deciding to leave Vanraj.
