avengers was not inspired by "mahabharat". Pretty sure they dont even know about it. I thought that was the topic. Ppl starting to discuss mythology on this thread gives unnecessary relevance to kangana's statement. As if we r desperately finding truth in her statements. Thats how i intepreted it. ppl are free to discuss mythology otherwise. i hv nothing to offer. I always found discussions on mythology futile anyway...carry on..

Double standards kayam rahe. 🙏

If you are talking about Kangana then it is nothing new. Every actor gets trolled

If you are talking about MB then also everything that we are discussing here is part of MB text - you know one of the Hindu sacred texts

Krishna did put Arjun in place quite a lot of time. Panchali did save Pandavas. She was a badass queen . Krishna was a great politician. What do you think saved Pandavas so many times? Who do you think kep rallying for their cause when they were in exile? It was KRISHNA AND HIS political acumen

Karna was a molester.

Honestly, Pandavas were lucky they had wife like Panchali whose intelligence saved them . To have a friend like Krishna who never left them. To have like bro-in-law like drishtdyumna who provided with majority of their army for war

Bheem , arjun and sahadev were capable individuals and good human . But their biggest fault was blind support to eldest

You know its never too late to start reading actual text rather than relying on tv show

Read BORI version of MB . Dont believe tv shows

I completely get being proud of our Indian heritage and mythology. But when folks try to claim everything is part of Indian mythology it is embarrassing. There were multiple great ancient civilizations all across the world. There are fascinating mythological tales all across the globe. While Superhero stories are sometimes inspired by ancient myths - it Isn't just Indian myths. Thor is a Norse God. Moon Knight is based on Egyptian mythology. Shang Chi is based on Chinese mythology. Eternals are embedded in cultures across the world.

As BettyA1 pointed out, the Iliad and Odysseus are older than Mahabharata. The Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest known epic poem. It is possible that Mahabharata got loose inspiration from older epics. Krishna and Achilles were both vulnerable in the heel. Karna and Hector are both venerated heroes from the losing side who never got their fair due in life. Both the Trojan war and the battle of Kurukshetra are fought over complex moral and grey matters.

Good points comparing the epics, but Illiad and Odyssey are older than MB? You and BettyA1 sound so definitive that I have to ask the two of you- where do you get this stuff from? 😂

Even scholars are divided. For every scholar who believes the epics are contemporaneous, there are reputed scholars who have concluded that MB is much older. So for you to make such an assertion as if it's fact is bordering on the strange, to put it politely.

I think it's good for folks to have some pride in their own heritage and not be so embarrassed. We're not that bad. 😂. Just read a bit more, gain more knowledge and dig deeper. Best way to develop more self-confidence. 😉

Yeah. Imagine being dragged and abused. Imagine still having the courage and presence of mind to beat your attackers in their own game only for the world to label you as just a victim while your bestie gets to play the hero. That s the biggest disservice you can do to Panchali .

I love Krishna. He has some great moments throughout the epic. But this is not one of them. This was Panchali s won and Panchali s win alone

Yes. She was a strong woman. Stronger than most modern woman today. I didn't know you loved her so much. You know I'd never hurt you my dearest ❤️💕
