I completely get being proud of our Indian heritage and mythology. But when folks try to claim everything is part of Indian mythology it is embarrassing. There were multiple great ancient civilizations all across the world. There are fascinating mythological tales all across the globe. While Superhero stories are sometimes inspired by ancient myths - it Isn't just Indian myths. Thor is a Norse God. Moon Knight is based on Egyptian mythology. Shang Chi is based on Chinese mythology. Eternals are embedded in cultures across the world.

As BettyA1 pointed out, the Iliad and Odysseus are older than Mahabharata. The Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest known epic poem. It is possible that Mahabharata got loose inspiration from older epics. Krishna and Achilles were both vulnerable in the heel. Karna and Hector are both venerated heroes from the losing side who never got their fair due in life. Both the Trojan war and the battle of Kurukshetra are fought over complex moral and grey matters.

Agree with everything except the Karna bit. Forget the part where he and his cronies committed sexual assault, he was also a sex trafficker of women and children. In fact, I'd go the other way and say he didn't get enough punishment for what he did in life.
