Because i am happy, writing an extended alternate scene post haldi..tad long.. and because we wont get to see this on screen.. or maybe we will? High hopes i know. Anyway.

Overwhelmed with what Anuj had done during the haldi, Anu could hardly take off her eyes from her man.

The dinner after the rituals, was another fun affair. Seated together, Anu silently had clutched his right hand in hers.

Anuj was on cloud 9 seeing his bold would-be-wifey.. when dinner was served, Anu didn't let go of his hand, even then.

Elders seated on Anu's side and devika, mukku were seated on Anuj's side.

Mukku was the first to notice him eating with his left hand.

She called out, "since when did you start eating with your left hand Bhai?"

"oh boy, the teasing is on" he thought, "but ki fark penda ae", he chuckled to himself.

"Woh bachche .. I do eat with my left hand sometimes.. Aaj mood kiya so.. " he squeased Anu's hand..she held it tighter..

Noticing the hands glued together, Devika chimmed in, "arey Mukku, understand na, aaj kuch alag hi mood hain inka, kyu Anu" she winked.

Anu raising an eyebrow at Anuj and laughed in a yes .. by now everyone was aware what was going on, but they decided to let MaAn have their moment..

Anuj whispered, "ghurna bandh karo tum"

Mimicking him..she retorted back, "isse ghurna nahi, niharna kehte hain janaab.."

"aaj aap kuch zyada bold nahi ho rahi Anupama Joshi ji?"

Anu, whispered back, "aaj aap kuch zyada sanskari nahi ho rahe Kapadia ji?"

"Kal shaadi ho jaane do, dikhata hu tumhe sab sanskar aur maryada" he winked..

She replied, "uff uff uff.." and winked back at him.

Post dinner they sat for a chit chat in a garden lounge. MaAn separated in two groups, everyone talking incessantly.. about the fun they had.. how Anu had danced wholeheartedly.. how Anuj was smitten by his Anu..

In all these bonhomie, the lovebirds kept glancing at each other.. when he was sure no one looking, Anuj signalled her to check her mobile.

"Main ghussa hu.." - Anuj texted

"Kyu?" - Anu

"Tum dance karte waqt apna pallu bandhne wali thi, woh kyu nahi kiya?"

She rolled her eyes at him.

"Sabke saamne kaise karti.. maryada naam ki bhi koi cheeze hoti hain Kapadia ji"

"Uff, tum aur tumhari maryada mere romance ki dhajjiya uda denge"

He made a face at her.

"Suniye.." - Anu smiled

"Kahiye.."

"Aapse milna tha thodi der..kuch kariye plan.. "

He blew a flying kiss at her with a wink.

Anu made sure bapuji had taken his meds and slept. Mamaji was there to look after him. Making sure everyone else had gone to their room. Anu entered her room to change.. what a happy and peaceful day it was.

She was about to change when devika had barged in,

"chal na thodi der bahar baithte hain, phir kal se toh tu busy ho jayegi.."

Anu slapped her arm lightly.. "kuch bhi bolti hain"

Both friends strolled around the garden hand in hand, finally coming to halt near a gazebo.

Seating on the gazebo steps, they talked about how far they had come, together, supporting each other, Anu wished Devika also finds a life partner again as she had.. just as same as Anuj.

"Yeh toh mushkil hain baba, tere Anuj jaise koi ho hi nahi sakta and I don't want a boring partner like him" she winked..

"Chup reh.. chamaat marungi agar unhe kuch kaha toh"

" oh hooo.. tere toh tever hi badal gaye Annudi!"

"Haas toh, Anuj hain hi aise", Anu smirked and blushed at the same time, both broke into a fit of laughter..

Devika took her balaaye/evil eye and hugged her.. "hamesha aise hi khush rehna Anu.. Kanhaji tujhe duniya ki saari khushiya dey.."

"Jab mere paas tere jaisi dost ho toh main khush hi rahungi ne.. "

As the two got teary eyed..

"Tum ladkiyo ko bas chance chahiye na roney ke liye", a voice boomed behind them and a pair of strong arms engulfed the girls in a group hug.

Anuj had come from the opposite side and sat behind them.

He had heard Devika's wish. Devika saw his tears.. and slapped his arm lightly.

"dekha Anu, kaha tha na.. yeh bada hi boring banda hain.."

Anuj ssshhhhed her and hugged them tight..

Anu eyed Anuj, he replied he had wanted to talk with Devu as well as her.

The three friends chatted for a while, reminiscing old times.

Devika stiffled a yawn.. "mujhe badi neend aa rahi hain, main chali. Tum dono thodi der baad aa jana wapas..ok? Tomorrow is a big day after all"

She kissed her friends and went off to sleep..

They went inside the gazebo, hand in hand, slightly leaning on the rails..the inside dome of the gazebo was adorned with fairy lights. With creepers hung around the columns..giving a dreamy look to the environment..

"Ab bataiye.. ghussa kam hua?"

"Aise thodi! Mujhe use step ka preview chahiye Madam." She tugged him in mock annoyance.

"Waise shiqayat toh mujhe bhi hain aapse Kapadia ji"

"Maine kya kiya Miss Joshi?"

She got tad shy but then unfazedly looked in his eyes, "ek toh itne hendsome lag rahe the, upar se yeh bina button wala kurta pehen liya, pata hain kitni mushkil ho rahi thi mujhe!"

"Really now?!"

"Haa toh, naa main aapko thik se nihar sakti thi, naa aapko haldi laga sakti thi, aur aap aise khulle kurte mein ghum rahe the"

"Oh, itni si baat, pehle bata deti, Abhi aapki shiqayat dur kiye deta hu."

Saying so he took off his kurta, spread out his arms and looked at her proudly.. "ab thik hain?"

She knew he was handsome but seeing him bare chested, blew her mind off. She just gaped at him with an open mouth.

Going near him, on an impulse, wordlessly she let her palm touch his heart, slowly sliding her hands on his chiselled torso, she let them graze his skin lightly..

He whispered in her ear, "like what you see?" She just breathed unevenly in a dazed state..

"ab tumhari bari.. " she shot a shocked look at him.

"What?..., I mean subah ka woh step dikhao jab tum apna pallu kamar pe baandhne wali thi.."

She gasped at her own thinking, thinking Anuj was asking her to do the same as he did. Worst of all, he knew what she was thinking.

She hid her face in his chest..he jumped back. "Not done. I want my moment."

Smiling at his antiques, trying not to gawk at his skin show, she pulled her pallu over her shoulder and brought the end from the opposite side to her waist and fixed it in her skirt.

Looking at him, putting her hands on her waist, she raised her eyebrow and smirked.

In a reflex, he brought his hands on his heart and let out a whistle..

He went closer than they already were, she sandwiched between a pillar and him.

Not breaking their eye contact, he touched the exposed skin on her waist, whispered in her ear huskily, "so sexy Mrs. Kapadia!"

"Aap bhi, Mr. Kapadia.." smiling, she rested her head on his chest.

Lost to the world..

once again they had found each other...
