Ranveer Singh is closer to Varun Dhawan in terms of acting than he is to Ranbir Kapoor or Amir Khan.

Ranveer Singh is a better actor than any version of this!

I hope this stays unpopular.

I could never imagine Ranbir of Aamir pulling off a Bajirao Mastani Or Ramleela. To his credit, Ranveer is a great performer, who can excel in films like Lootera and BM or OTT stuff like Simba. Can't say the same for either Ranbir/Varun.

Strongly disagree. Yes he pulled of the characters but you really think nobody can pull it off? Personally I don't think so. Both characters had similar requirements which is look good semi-naked and pull a "menacing face" which basically is what you call Crass acting. Tiger Shroff could have pulled it off if he had an ounce of acting talent in him. Both the characters were written that way so he didn't have to adjust in any way. It's the same way people flame Ranbir Kapoor for acting in coming of the age movies which require sort of subtle acting which Ranveer can't do.

It's like the main lead in Baahubali who you will think is a good actor because he pulled of baahubali but thhen you see his other work and it's just meh.

I think Ranveer and Varun Dhawan basically in the range of average above average actors who have their particular strengths and excellent script selection and that's about it.

The operative word here is "if". Also, your post did not mention Tiger. And no, lmao, Tiger can't pull off a BM. C'mon let's be realistic.

Ranveer proved his mettle in subtelty through Lootera. He has the potential but he's mostly a director's actor.

Ranbir is a great performer but I wouldn't call him versatile. I highly doubt he could pull off a malhari. Whereas, Ranveer with little tweaks can play a Rajneeti or a YJHD.

"excel in films like Lootera"

Really? Lootera was an excellent film where he got outperformed by the lead actress at least It was the common consensus from the "critics".

"Tiger can't pull off a BM". Obviously

But i don't see how Varun Dhawan can't pull it off and again when I saw the movie all that his character required is a good splash of eyeliner and a bit of lloud acting which I mentioned he is good at doing.

I think the only disagreement is "Ranveer proved his mettle in subtlety through Lootera". That is really far fetched. Lootera was a movie where he got outperformed by the lead actress from start to end.

"Ranveer with little tweaks can play a Rajneeti or a YJHD".

Characters like the one in Rajneeti require subtle acting and so far I have not even seen a TV advertisement where Ranveer singh convincingly do that. It's like me saying Ranbir can do Padmaavat with "little tweaks".
