Watched the episode second time with subtitles on, here’s my take.
1) The episode wasn’t bad per say, but it was not of high quality and was kinda disjointed at places, but I also feel sometimes we judge harshly when some scene or dialogue annoys us.
2) Take the first scene, it was shown on previous day’s episode that Ram & Pri were supposed to go together down to meet Adi and partake in search op, but Priya didn’t go with Ram, why? Because she realised that MS was trying to negatively influence the others, and she wanted to be there for her family while Ram goes to search, which was what Ram explicitly said to his friends, that Priya should have been with him, but couldn’t because of MS, they are splitting the responsibility between them, there is no gender bias or that Pri is letting Ram be hero here. Yes, Priya of the past might not have trusted Ram to do that, but aren’t we going exactly for such mutual respect and trust that developed between them. Being a couple is not just about love, it is about respecting and trusting each other and letting them share your burden, which is what portrayed in that scene. I agree, Priya’s dialogue of nothing impossible for Ram was OTT, in making him the god figure and also in putting enormous pressure on a mortal man, but she did it because she needed to convince Varun quickly, she doesn’t think like that and will not continue hype him up to stroke his ego. And Ram, his monologue in between was not about his pleasure in his wife’s sudden hype up or even about her trust in him, it was about whether or not he is what she said he is but Priya being the one woman army. This is how they compliment each other,
2) What puzzled me most is that the friends trio standing and chatting instead of going around to search, they were shown to be waiting for Krish’s info from CCTV footage, but does Mumbai have CCTV in every nook & corner of the city? I don’t know, I live in a Tier 1 city too, and it certainly doesn’t have. But basically they wanted to us believe they could get the footage and I am taking it with a pinch of salt and moving on. Ram’s rage towards MS, is it leading to an explosion? Ram seemed very levelheaded when he came to know of the truth behind Pri’s accident, but that’s because he wanted to protect Pri from facing the wrath of his family, he had to let the incident go for Pri’s sake (even if she didn’t want that), but I think his rage was building on even from before that incident, this is the first time he is coming face to face with MS after that, and MS’s ugly truth is again on display, especially against the women he considers as his family, no wonder he was out of sorts.
3) Why SaRun weren’t searching on the streets, that’s because this is a show where leads are shown to be the only responsible people around, can’t say anything more 🤦🏽♀️
4) The mystery was why Krish wasn’t joining the search and Ram’s very obvious understanding of it, we might have not even expected him to join, if not for Ram asking about it, but we were shown him asking and then accepting Kirsh’s response with an ‘I get it’. Is it an indication towards something? We have to wait & watch.
5) Ram had overcame his rage and got himself in control by the time he reached Ishaan, now I have a doubt how Ishaan could have got into the terrace of a skyscraper, won’t such building have heavy security, again moving on from the very obvious illogicality. Ram needed his full wits to deal with the troubled teen, we always get carried away by the goofy, cutesy Ram who pretends to be scared of his wife, but he has also built an business empire on his own, isn’t it? It is another matter that our makers aren’t skilled enough how exactly he did it, but it is shown that he worked from bottom and reached where he is now, that means he has presence of mind and people skills? Yeah the physics bit was OTT, but they needed (for yet to be known reason) for Ram to bond with Ishaan, so let’s go with that. I already mentioned that Ram was the right person to talk Ishaan down mainly because he was an unknown entity and was able to keep panic at bay, even Priya would not have able to do that as she is the boy’s mausi. Now how Priya reached there? Didn’t Ram tell his friends to inform Priya, ofcourse he asked her to stay put, but we know our girl, can she stay home at peace after knowing where the kid is?
6) The house scene wasn’t much interesting to me, except the counselling bit, Ram is already trying to get Ishaan accept his maternal family. Did anybody notice Ishaan didn’t refer anyone except his dad by the relationship? I have already ranted my irritation with Sara’s ‘it’s ok’
7) Let’s come to the most intriguing part of the episode. The conniving trio, I am stil confused about many things here, what drama they are talking about, what #metoo incident they are referring to, what is bothering Nandu so much that she thinks her everything is at stake. Most importantly I didn’t understand one dialogue of hers, she said ‘ Akki should listen to you rather than the one who is trying to break the brother /sister relationship’ the subtitle for this is brother’s sister, what does she mean her? Why does she think Priya is trying to break the sibling relationship? Or is she not referring Priya at all? And Shubham said he did the drama to ensure that’s shashi won’t come out, did he think the investigation would bring out shashi and that’s why did the drama at the dining table, if so how did he know of the investigation and what he said to Shivi to instigate her? Or that he wants the investigation to expose Shashi and send him away forever, that’s why he did the drama to give his consent for investigation? About the metoo, if it is Anjali-akki kaand, Nandu already knows that shashi is aware of Shubhu’s involvement as Sid was also involved, so is it a new one, and how shashi got to know about it?
Tbh, Priya standing for Ram’s problems and Ram doing the same has been shown for a long time. During Diwali, priya handled Shivi’s tantrums and Ram after overhearing MS disparaging Pri, threatened MS without Pri’s knowledge. What’s currently happening is the extension of it which shows the growth in their relationship, but what bothers me is their lack of growth as individuals, Ram now knows that he was wrong in spoiling his siblings and giving in to all their demands, but still their one sautela word weakens him and making him give in. Priya for all her bravery and strength was always shown getting weakened by MS’ taunts, and she is still not shown at a place where MS doesn’t matter to her at all,
