Abhi needed Manjari to look at things from Akshu's POV and show up to the mehendi. He needed her to explain to him to take a step back out of his impulsive rage. He was even ready to break the marriage in the heat of emotions. Of course, he would have never done that. But, my point is that we need our families and elders to guide us sometimes, and Akshu has never had that. My heart broke for her today. I thought the writers did a really good job of finally showing why she acts the way she does. It is all her traumas and past manipulations by the hands of Aarohi. Had the Goenkas intervened earlier in life, she would not be like this today. She doesn't even know the toxic hold that Aarohi has upon her, and that is what Abhi is trying to make her see.
Abhi is her love, and Aarohi is the burden that holds her back. She will break free, but it will take time.
Also, lets not forget that Akshu has chosen Abhi many times before when it came down to it. She left Aarohi stranded at the mandap to confess her love, and she ran to tell him the accident truth the second she found out despite Aarohi's blackmails, but Abhi is unwilling to believe her on that, which I really hope gets cleared up ASAP.
Abhi was also unwilling to go to the tilak without Manjari, and he was ready to cancel it all together.
My point here is that Abhi and Akshu are actually a lot more similar when it comes to the entire love vs. family thing. Abhi is constantly guided by Manjari, and today, Akshu was finally guided by her family. I don't see anything wrong in that.
Even Abhi recognizes the extent of Akshu's trauma and how much this kills her.
My heart broke for both of them.
