Sanu sings tujhe dekha toh yeh jana sanam — Akshu’s favorite song. Abhira dance. Akshu asks how this happened, and Abhi says that if Akshu wants something, he has to make it come true. Harsh calls his event planner, who tells him Abhi brought Sanu for Akshu.
Sanu says that Abhi was talking about Akshu the entire bike ride here. This was such a precious scene!
Sanu and Akshu sing chori chori nazare mili as a duet, and the claps in the background really killed this scene. It looked so fake! Anyways, it was cute to see how excited Akshu was after this and thanking Abhi for making her dreams come true.
Harsh takes Abhi aside and blasts him saying that he will destroy this house and hospital because of Akshu. Akshu overhears this entire conversation. Abhi defends Akshu saying that she didn’t ask for this and to stop blaming her, but Harsh brings up the music department up in response. Abhi says that Sanu isn’t unprofessional and to stop exaggerating. Just then, Harsh gets a call saying that the mantri had to leave. Abhi says that a true professional is someone who has to value all professions. Abhi says that they are just using his time in a different way and he is happy to be here.
Harsh is left speechless.
Thoughts on this scene — for once, I am glad Harsh took Abhi to the side instead of creating a tamasha. But, that being said, Harsh has developed such a hatred for Akshu that he is unwilling to see anything past that. Abhi was not wrong at all today, and yet Harsh impulsively blamed him and Akshu (again, blaming Akshu for things she doesn’t even know about). The problem with these Birla elders is that they are all so egotistical and have such toxic marriages that they cannot grasp the fact that Abhi is such a loving (soon to be husband) who respects his wife and wants to make her feel loved.
Abhi takes Akshu away from there, and this reminded me of the many times when he has taken Manjari away. He is both of their protector.
Akshu tells him she feels bad that Harsh got mad at him because of her. She is stressing out, because she does not want to create troubles. She tells him that they have to be careful, because otherwise the balance between love and family will get ruined. And here, she is exactly right! Abhi needs to find a balance — even though he is not wrong, he needs to be a little more careful so that he doesn’t unintentionally keep making things more difficult.
Mahima is listening in on this conversation and she is saying that she will get the envelope with the letter to him and it will be so fun. She is purely toxic. Nothing justifies this level of her hatred towards Akshu. Her insecurities are insane and blown out of proportion. She has no concern for even how this will impact her own sister or Abhi.
Mimi wants to do a rasam, but the Birla elders refute it. They seriously cannot even pretend to be happy and excited for their son’s wedding. Mahima taunts Parth for being excited about the rasams. The Birla kids are all super excited and lighten the mood. They were never allowed to enjoy, so they are letting their inner children out. I feel so deeply bad for all of them. Also, Neil says that all of these rasams will be repeated in every future shaadi, somewhat foreshadowing his own shaadi with Aarohi (puke).
The rasam is that both Abhira have to hold ends of a sheet. Each end is their individual world and now these worlds are going to come together. They have to wrap themselves together without damaging the cloth. Abhira get scared and nervous of completing it, but Neil teases him saying hopefully he’s not allergic. The Birla kids are gold!!
While Abhira are completing the rasam, Harsh says that there is clearly a problem in the relationship, and Anand agrees. These taunts are seriously getting out of hand now.
Abhira bump into each other and are unable to complete the rasam successfully. Anand says that this means a huge problem is coming, and Mahima says that there is truth in rasams. Abhi is about to go at it, but Mimi stops him. She says that rasams are for fun, not to stress people out. No relationship is perfect from the start, and it needs work. Manjari says this rasam is just a trial, but Harsh counters her. Manish says he forgot that it is a doctor’s family so Mimi should re-explain. Mimi says if we get sick, then we have to get multiple tests sometimes so that the sickness can go away for good. AG says that situations should be controlled before it gets out of hand. All of the Goenkas are so sweet and lighten the mood.
Abhira get happy again, and Abhi holds Akshu’s hand. They look at each other with such immense love.
This last scene was so so so symbolic. When the accident truth comes out, the Birlas are going to think its over. They are going to think that Abhira are done and that there will be a huge fight. But, Abhira will prove them wrong. Despite what people think their reactions will be, they will come out together. Like AG said, they will control it before it gets out of hand. The Birlas are going to misinterpret the entire situation, and Abhi, by grabbing Akshu’s hand, will support her and get her out of whatever mess is to come!
