I’m so sorry for your loss sweetheart. 🥺❤️ Losing a furry friend is unimaginable for me, so I wouldn’t even know how to comfort you in this situation. Pets are the most precious life companions we could ask for. They’re pure, innocent and offer the most selfless form of love and devotion. My cats are the centre of my universe, I love them so so much, I can’t even imagine a world without them.

Allow yourself to grieve and don’t bottle up your emotions. You have every right to be upset. Talk to your loved ones or join a group online specifically for people who’ve gone through the same loss. If it helps, maybe you can volunteer to help homeless animals. In time, you can also consider adopting another dog, preferably an older one, who’s been sitting at a shelter for years. They have so much love to give but unfortunately people prefer to adopt puppies. Love you girl. If you ever want to talk to someone, I’m always here for you. 🤗

TBH you don't get over it. With time it just becomes easier to handle the loss and memories. Sometimes even after years have passed, you'll suddenly be hit by a memory and feel the loss, but you learn to handle it with a smile.

Let yourself grief and give yourself time. As much time as you need. There’s no right amount of time or a right kind of way to grief. You do what works for you.

When I lost my cat the (the first fur baby I lost) the vet gave me this poem and I found it emotionally helpful.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Lovely poem, I teared up ❤️

Thank you so much ❤️

We'll meet on the rainbow bridge someday ❤️

I'm very sorry for your loss and wish you lots of comfort. ❤️

Yes that's another reason my parents don't let me keep one in the house, as in my house in the city. But at my holiday home, the caretakers only keep at least one or two for security reasons and they are super rough-tough doggos.

Just that when we stayed there during the pandemic for months, they became domesticated and I took care of them. Hence the attachment and bond.

Thank you ❤️

When my grandfather died , his pet dog also died after few days . It didn’t eat anything n left the world . I am not pet person. I feel like animals are free souls like humans as all are living beings n let them live freely n independently like humans live with freedom on their own will n master on their own .

Yes absolutely.

I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather and doggo. I hope you are doing better, the two of them are definitely looking over you and protecting you ❤️

I have been feeling a void since two days now, my appetite isn't the same. Even though I'm trying to distract myself it brings me back to remembering him ❤️

My pets are actually at the holiday home, while I live in the city. And I prefer not to adopt in the city because the flats in Mumbai aren't big enough for dogs to play or run around. Although I do donate to shelters regularly and make sure they get a forever home. I think I'll go to a shelter and spend some time with the animals there. That might help. Thank you for the suggestion. ❤️

@bold: Thanks a lot darling 🤗❤️
