Naagin 6 Written Update 3rd April 2022

The episode starts with Shalaka trying to convince Pratha to go back to her home - the Palace beyond the Nilgiri Mountains. Shalaka says that she’s aware that the Shesh Naagin is their superior and they neither have the authority nor the courage to question why or how Pratha became the Shesh Naagin. She says that even if Pratha is the Shesh Naagin, she is still a woman after all. A woman with a sensitive heart. Pratha feels hurt whenever Rishab gets hurt. So whether Pratha admits it or not, Shalaka knows that Pratha loves Rishab. And this fake story of her pregnancy is hurting Rishab. Shalaka requests Pratha to put an end to this false story and go back to her Palace where they can heal her with the special herb-salve. When Pratha continues to refuse Shalaka asks her what happened on that night that she’s so adamant on not going back to the Palace. Mahek joins them and starts telling Shalaka about their past.

Flashback:

A young Pratha and teenager Mahek are seen playing in their Palace. Their Mother comes and tells them about their Maternal Grandmother, showing them her portrait. Pratha asks about the light emanating from the portrait and their Mother says that it’s due to the Naagmani. A Shesh Naagin receives the honor of having the Naagmani and this blessing is meant not for the daughter but the granddaughter of their family lineage. This means that Mahek will receive this blessing and this Naagmani when she comes of age. But for that she must do penance/‘tapasya’ for years and years. Then, on the auspicious occasion of the midnight of the full moon night of Uttarayan, Mahek will finally be able to obtain the title and powers of Shesh Naagin and will also be bestowed with the Naagmani.

When their Mother finishes with the story, a bored Pratha asks whether they can go play now. But their Mother says that Mahek must do her penance now. An excited Mahek says she must prepare herself for this blessing/‘vardaan’ as one day she will become Shesh Naagin of the Naaglok. Then just like their Grandmother, Mahek will also rule like a queen. Pratha finds the discussion quite boring and says that since their Mother has married a human, they are both half-human and half-naagin. Pratha says that even if Mahek chooses to become a Naagin, Pratha will never make that choice as she wishes to lead an ordinary life and marry a simple human.

While Mahek does her rigorous penance, Pratha accompanies her just to give her elder sister some company and so that the penance is complete early. Soon after they grow up.

An adult Pratha asks Mahek what happened to their Grandmother. Mahek replies that she died but on their Grandmother’s birthday when Mahek’s penance is finally over, their Grandmother’s ‘vardaan’ and Naagmani both will be passed over to Mahek. When Pratha playfully starts to leave, Mahek stops her midway and prays to Lord Shiva to knock some sense into her little sister. She tells her that if Pratha sincerely prays to Lord Shiva then she will definitely get the man of her dreams. Pratha replies that she has been praying to Lord Shiva for years now but she hasn’t found the man of her dreams yet. Now she will start praying to Mahek instead once Mahek becomes the Shesh Naagin. Perhaps Mahek will be able to give Pratha what she wants.

Present:

Coming back to the present, Shalaka asks them again what happened on that night. A furious Pratha refuses to talk further about this matter and she leaves. Shalaka reminds Mahek that they need to heal Pratha somehow because she’s been weakening more and more since she consumed Shanglira’s poison from the Yamuna River. And to heal Pratha, they must take her back to the Palace. Mahek assures her that she knows how to get Pratha to their Palace.

Pratha and Rishab are performing Rehan’s roka rituals, when suddenly Pratha senses that she’s being called by Mahek. She immediately leaves and follows the sound to reach the Palace beyond the Neelgiri Mountains. She hears Mahek’s cries for help again and runs inside. There she finds both Mahek and Shalaka completely fine and realizes that she’s been tricked by her elder sister to finally come back to their home. Pratha angrily demands to know how Mahek could trap her like this. How could Mahek forget what happened to her on that night.

Flashback:

The auspicious night has finally arrived. Pratha and Mahek’s Father says that from tonight they will be the ones touching Mahek’s feet instead of the other way round. Mahek tells her Mother that she’s ready for her destined mantle. Their Mother says that on midnight when the moonlight touches this holy milk, Mahek must drink that milk to finally become the Shesh Naagin. For millions of years, the walls of their Place have been decorated with every Shesh Naagin’s portrait. Currently it’s their Maternal Grandmother’s portrait and after tonight, Mahek will finally be joining this long line of Shesh Naagins.

While they perform the last rituals before midnight, all of a sudden two drunken men turn up at the Palace and trespass without permission. The men find that the Palace is occupied by two young girls (Pratha and Mahek),two old people (their parents) and a mere child (Arjun, their little brother). They think it’s not going to be hard task to overpower this family and they decide to take advantage of the situation. The parents try to oust them, but the drunken men violently push them away. Pratha runs to her little brother’said. Their Father crumbles to the floor after being brutally hit on his head by the drunken men while Mahek looks on aghast.

Mahek desperately tries to reach for the holy milk when she sees the moonlight touching the milk at last. But the drunken men stop her midway and hold her back. Pratha tries to go after Mahek to free her from those men’s clutches but her Mother stops her. She informs Pratha that this auspicious occasion is a rare and short event when all 9 planets will come into perfect alignment. So the holy milk must be drunk right now and if Mahek cannot do it now then Pratha must perform this duty. Mahek keeps on struggling with the hold on her and Pratha fervently tries to go help her but their Mother forcefully stops Pratha and makes her drink. And Pratha has no option but to drink the holy milk meant for the future Shesh Naagin.

Pratha crumbles to the ground and sees her entire family in the miserable state they are in. Her father and little brother are lying lifeless on the ground while her elder sister is still struggling in the hold of those goons. Pratha finally turns into her newly attained Shesh Naagin avatar and threatens the goons to let Mahek go. They get frightened at her sudden transformation and immediately leave Mahek. They throw a burning candle down and the carpet quickly catches on fire. Shesh Naagin Pratha gets a hold of the drunken goons and throws them both in fire.

Soon the whole Palace catches on fire and Pratha and Mahek run to their Mother and unconscious Father to help them. Before they could reach them, a burning log of fire falls over their parents. Their Mother instructs them both to run away from here, their Mother reminds Pratha that she has the blessing of Lord Shiva now, that she is the chosen one who must protect the Naagmani and also take care of her elder sister.

Mahek drags a sobbing Pratha out from the burning Palace and Pratha grieves about the loss of their home and their entire family. Mahek tells her that a great responsibility is entrusted only in the hands of someone who has the ability to endure great amount of pain as well. She consoles Pratha that when the time to save the world finally arrives, Pratha will always find Mahek right by her side. Perhaps that’s what Lord Shiva always intended - for Pratha to become the Shesh Naagin. Mahek reminds her that they’re half-human and half-naagin. Even though Mahek always wanted to become Shesh Naagin and Pratha always wanted to become a human, but things are different now. Perhaps it was never written in their destiny to lead a simple life like humans.

Pratha mourns that they’ve lost everything. In this Palace they have lost their family, their home and their dreams. She hates this Palace and never wishes to return here. She decides to go beneath the ground/‘shiv-bhoomi’ for an eternity and vows to never return to this Palace again. She shall return only when she’s called upon to fulfill her duty. She shall come back to perform her duties as the Shesh Naagin and then again return to the underground/‘shiv-bhoomi’. But come what may, Pratha shall never step foot in this Palace again.

Since then, both Pratha and Mahek have been living underground and they returned only when Professor called upon the Shesh Naagin for help.

Present:

Coming back to the present, Mahek and Shalaka put the herb-salve on Pratha's torso. Shalaka asks Pratha to return to Rishab. He thinks that she has someone else’s child in her womb, so Shalaka asks her to sort their issue out since Pratha loves him. Pratha denies and claims that she doesn't like Rishab at all. Mahek says that Pratha is lying because she has always yearned for an ordinary life, a simple life of humans. Mahek laments over the fact that she must be the first sister ever who cannot wish for a happy married life for her little sister. All Mahek can do is hope that Pratha succeeds in her fight for the country and takes her revenge from those traitors/Asurs.

Shalaka is pleasantly surprised to see the sisters’ loving bond and remembers her sins of the past. She says that her penance will only come to fruition if she successfully aids the Shesh Naagin in her mission. Shalaka’s curse of a 100 years will only come to end when Shesh Naagin gives her a blessing/vardaan and accepts Shalaka’s changed form. For years and years, she has been waiting for this opportunity to serve the Shesh Naagin so that she can finally free herself from this curse. Pratha intently listens on and decides to accept Shalaka’s changed form. Pratha gives her a blessing while freeing her of her curse and embraces Shalaka as the new Naagin of their Naagvansh. An elated Shalaka expresses her sincere gratitude and takes her leave.

Next morning, Pratha tells Mahek that the time has come to tell everyone the truth about her pregnancy. Seema asks Rishab to bring Pratha downstairs for breakfast. Mahek deliberately spills water in the corridor and Pratha slips on the floor. Rishab sees Pratha falling and screams her name. He runs to her and immediately picks her up and takes her to their bedroom. The whole family comes after him after hearing Rishab’s sudden scream. He tells them how he saw Pratha fall and asks Vihan to call the Doctor.

Doctor informs everyone that Pratha must have been going through some skin diseases because there are a few rashes here and there and tells them not to worry. Seema asks after Pratha’s unborn child and the Doctor says that she’s not pregnant. It might be just dizziness or nausea and they might have misunderstood the false alarm. Rishab is shocked to know this. The Doctor takes his leave and Seema asks Pratha to take some rest.

Rishab tries talking to Pratha after everyone leaves their bedroom. She mistakenly twists her wrist and Rishab promptly brings a bandage. He gently bandages her wrist and asks why she lied about her pregnancy. Pratha tells him that she was merely testing Rishab’s trust on her. He had claimed that he loved her which is why he married her. But when you love someone, you’re supposed to trust that person as well. If Rishab had ever trusted her, he would’ve never spoken to her in the awful manner that he did last night. She asks him what he thinks about her. Does he think of her as someone who could stoop this low, that she would carry someone else’s child but name Rishab as the father? She’s sure that Rishab never loved her because he doesn’t trust her one bit.

Rehan’s Engagement Party begins and Inspector Vijay arrives at the Gujral Mansion. Inspector Vijay speaks to Pratha and assures her that he has been working on her friend Ria’s murder case and Pratha will be the first one to know about any development in the case as soon as they find any clue. Mahek joins them and she and Vijay lock eyes. Pratha notices them staring at each other and teases Mahek about it. Mahek ignores the playful teasing and changes the topic to their investigation about Ria’s murder. She tells Pratha that she had found an orange string on the terrace where Ria’s body was found. Last night Mahek came upon an orange hoodie to which the string belongs to. Hence chances are that this hoodie must belong to one of the Gujral boys - Rehaan, Vihan or Ritesh.

Reem stops Rishab from approaching Pratha and demands to know why he suddenly seems so concerned about Pratha. He tells her that Pratha has not been feeling well, so he just wanted to ask after her health. Reem says how does it matter even if Pratha is not feeling well, Rishab should not be affected either way. He says that it’s not about being affected. He had behaved terribly with Pratha last night while he was drunk and he’s feeling bad about his mistake when she wasn’t even pregnant in the first place. Pratha was just putting his trust to test and Rishab failed that test. He should’ve trusted her as a husband. Reem reminds Rishab that he’s not really Pratha’s husband and this is just a sham wedding. They see Pratha and Yash laughing together and Reem feels that these two definitely like each other. Reem reminds Rishab why he married Pratha in the first place, how he suspects her to be a traitor. Rishab says that he hasn’t found any concrete proof against her yet to prove her involvement in this pandemic. Reem reminds him that if Pratha is actually innocent then he must let Pratha go with the man of her choice. Rishab listens to Reem and hesitantly agrees.

Inspector Vijay flirts with Mahek while she smilingly plays with the orange string. Rishab’s Uncle interrupts them and asks Mahek how she got that string as he has been looking for it since so long. Mahek asks him whether he knows whom it belongs to. Rishab’s Uncle excitedly tells her that it belongs to his son Rehan and he’ll be thrilled to find this lost string of his hoodie. Mahek comes to the conclusion that it was Rehan who murdered Pratha’s friend Ria.

The engagement ceremony begins and Mahek informs Pratha of her findings. Pratha says that they can’t make such a crucial decision based on a hoodie-string and they need some other solid proof to know the real culprit behind Ria’s death. Mahek tells her that she found Rehan’s hidden phone where she came upon the video footage of Rehan assaulting Ria. This is the footage that Ria must have given to Officer Riddhi. Pratha is furious after knowing the truth and vows to avenge her friend Ria’s death.

After the engagement ceremony, Pratha asks Rehan to go enjoy with his siblings and his fiancé. The elders go to have dinner while the young members leave to celebrate on their own. They play the game of Antakshari in 2 teams, the team leaders being Rishab and Yash. Rishab makes Pratha join Yash’s team instead of his own and they start playing. Yash sings Pehli Nazar Mein, dedicating the romantic song to Pratha while she looks on perplexed. Rishab sings Hum Bewafa Hargiz Na The, a song about faithfulness while looking at Pratha. Pratha sings Jag Ghoomeya, a song about finding love and dedicates it to Rishab while they both lovingly stare at each other. Reem interrupts them by singing Sun Saathiya and drags Rishab away from Pratha.

When everyone starts dancing and singing, Pratha and Mahek decide to corner Rehan. Mahek takes advantage of the crowd and spills her drink on Rehan’s clothes. Rehan leaves the gathering to go change and Pratha follows after him.

Rishab wonders where Pratha has gone and Reem stops him. She tells him that the detective she had hired will secure all information about Pratha and her father by tonight and will give it to them by midnight in the nearby forest. Rishab worries about the possibility that he might have to let goof Pratha after tonight if she is indeed innocent.

Pratha follows after Rehan and catches sight of him changing into the orange hoodie. Pratha remembers seeing the hoodie on the night when her friend Ria was murdered. She remembers Ria falling to her death. She remembers Ria taking her last breath and asking Pratha to bring her justice. Pratha finally transforms into her Shesh Naagin avatar to end Rehan’s life, but right before she could attack Rishab opens the door.

Precap: Rehan and his fiancé are together in the forest when they spot a tiger who’s about to attack them. Before Rehan could shoot the tiger, Pratha pushes him away and changes into her Shesh Naagin avatar to fight the tiger.
