The reason so many of us are quick to brush aside Aryanâs trauma as OTT is because we think of Arvind only as Aryan's brother-in-law and by default equate that to a distant relationship, one not of that much importance, merely because of the label.
But feelings, emotions and trauma donât work with labels or time duration and that's what we've seen of the limited Aryan-Arvind moments that we saw in the show. Arvind, to Aryan, was not just Arpita's husband but also his friend, mentor, and father figure in the absence of his own father. And if I'm not mistaken, Narmada had said that Arvind was Arpita's childhood friend so they did know each other for much longer. Some people obsess more about their friends than they do about family and we don't find that OTT because we know that for a lot of people, friends understand them better than family. Here, just because of the brother-in-law label, we immediately think of the relationship as unimportant â which, for Aryan, was not case.
As to why does Aryan holds AKT responsible while Narmada and Arpita don't â there's no secret or backstory to it, just the way they are as people. Arpita and Narmada come across as soft and forgiving people, who don't dwell too much on something â this is evident from their treatment of Ts, even when AKT has constantly accused Aryan of being Imlieâs boyfriend, the Rathore ladies don't let that affect or annoy them.
Aryan, on the other hand, stresses a lot on responsibility and accountability. During the weather track, the collage of AKT's article clippings and Aryanâs explanation of that indicated that AKT wrote inflammatory articles without getting the facts right, which led to Arvind's death. Just because AKT didnât actually murder Arvind doesnât mean it absolves him completely. And given Aryan has seen what Arvind's death did to their family, he took it upon himself to avenge Arvind's death, along with all the other responsibilities that he had to pick up as part of suddenly growing up.
And Arvind was burned to death in that car right before their eyes so there's no way to bring him back alive for the makers.
